fishing reels are ok as long as there is no line on them u will not be able to take any fishing line in your hand luggage but u can but them in your case and put them in the hold! xx

Long story but checking in for a flight back from bangkok a year or so ago.. they set up an extra security check at the gate.. tables everywhere and just pulled passengers at random. All is well i thought till I got pulled.. ''Did you pack the bag yourself sir'' Oh yes.. lying through my teeth as it was the wife who had.. he then went on to pull the lot out in front of everyone.. no wife with me she is half way accross the room by now, next thing out come the High heels.. the Vib, the Lube.. not to mention sussies a fookin bra that is Big enough to go round me and several pairs of stockings... My God I could have fookin died!! All In my Camera bag ff's... How the hell do you begin to explain..

the only thing I've really noticed is how bloody stupid the restrictions are.
re fishing reels, whats that all about, not on any banned list i seen.
ffs spoons :crazy:, take it everybody knows spoons are banned lol, somebody might ladle you to death lol mind, you are allowed teaspoons, maybe they dont hurt as much.
corkscrews :crazy: no good unless ya buttplugs stuck.

quite frankly airport security is a joke of what is banned and what isn't.
as an ex RE and trained in various things i know damm well if i wanted to mess up an plane, it aint that difficult, so banning fluids over 100ml is bloody pointless, its just so nuts.
o, and just to point out, can make a perfectly servicable bomb out of objects bought after going through security. which blows there restrictions out the window.

all of use that work there no that if someone wanted to blow up a plane we no dam well if they no what to do they can but the liquid ban is in place so its not so easy the way things are going there will be a liquid ban all togeather besides there is a new method in place so we can teast all liquids going though so if on the off chance some one does they will be found out.

it says on the banned list, "household cutlery (large spoons/table spoons are NOT permitted, however small teaspoons are allowed)
Well taking your shoes off is a random thing we dont have to have every ones shoes just afew random ones and as for your vodka and make up as long as its 100ml and in a clear small sandwich tip bag they cant take it off u!
I disagree, once you gone through the initial security check, you are free to buy whatever you like in the duty free shops the other side, and so far never had hand baggage checked as Ive been going on the plane.
as for the shoes, gatwick , everybody takes their shoes off, never had to do it at city or stanstead.
Ye once u have gone though the cheaks u can by as put water vodka make up as you like because every thing in the shop has been cheaked before coming to though the airport in boxes of 50+ and if the seal on the box is damaged or off then that box isnt able to come in the airport.
which is why its a bit silly taking nail scissors off ya then let ya take a bottle of vodka on board.

I had bought miniature handcream and deodrant for my handbag and was told I needed to go and buy a small food type bag to securely put them in along with my lipstick and perfume. I was told I was lucky as the total liquid was 90ml!??!!
