All kebabs and no conversation?

I have a query...
On my few forays into the chatrooms it often feels out of place to just 'chat'... now of course I am not saying it's all tits and arse there are rooms where people obviously know each other but these are usually short retorts of bonhomme and in-jokes but is it out of place to start a room on a discussion point?
It's not a whinge just an observation... I generally prefer the forum for banter and 'chat' anyhoooo... but am I just missing the more interesting rooms?
I know it's just personnal preference to what constitutes a good 'chat' as in comparison my other half enjoys the chatrooms and he types away happily whereas I grumble it's a all bit boring watching people competing on such a grand scale!!

I know what you mean and it is very difficult to describe, but my best guesstimate would be that certain "cliques" tend to rule the rooms they are accustomed to which does make it difficult to talk about things in general.
Best policy I have found is start a new room with the topic of your choice.

Dolly, I think I have chatted with Rammy recently and I think that our chat involved the footy and all manner of other things. I had a discussion with someone about architecture in Sheffield recently and can honestly say the number of sex-related chats I have had are minimal.
I take the chat rooms for what they are, places to chat in. Although this is a swingers site a lot of the forum posts and chat topics are not sexually charged and that is the nice thing about this site. It gives a social, balanced perspective on swinging etc and I don't think its at all out of place to talk about anything as long as it is interesting, whatever that may be.
I am mainly found in the Yorks and BBW rooms and I have got to know a few people in both in the short time I have been here but I honestly think that it has been worth it.

I understand that, it happens in all social circles fair doos... I suppose I was wondering if it just wasn't cricket to start up a general discussion room on a swinging site!

Yes that's true lava... Rammy is more persistant than me so it's a hollow whinge really!!
Just wondered how far the balance was tipped that's all!

Gosh it really all is about the web cams in certain rooms isn't it?? Just been finding my feet in the forums but branched out into chat today and realised that i didn't stand a chance unless my boobs were out on a cam.
