Certainly doesn't make you a hypocrite but, would I be right in saying that you are concerned about appearances or what other people think?
I'm not very well qualified to express an opinion on this as I'm barely average at 5'7" and, what's more I judge attractiveness on things other than appearance generally. Each to his own though.
Not sure I feel too comfortable with the suggestion that men who aren't tall aren't manly. I've seen some very ladylike 6 footers

Good Lord No !!! It's about how I feel. I just don't feel ladylike if I tower over my date. I would feel butch (for sake of a better word) which is not a feeling that I personally like and therefore I would not feel comfortable or sexy. Now that may sound shallow but I know me well enough to know that if I do not feel sexy with someone then all I am going to end up doing is attempting to 'fake it' and that's not on.
