Sex can be said to be the catalyst of history and the shenanigans of the deities of Ancient Greece, and the mere mortals they played with, were no exception. They were the original swingers!
This post stems from a recent conversation between the Bard and I - we don't just talk about whose turn it is to do the ironing you know! So, if you were to liken yourself to a character from Ionian mythology, who would you be? Here's a short list to get you thinking (the Roman equivalent where there is one is in brackets; I know, I know, pedantic or what?).
Adonis - the Brad Pitt lookalike and young single male, beloved of Aphrodite and Persephone.
Aeolus - God of the winds and eternal muncher - he feasted continually on his island.
Aesculapius - The god of medicine and healing. Socrates said on his deathbed that he 'owed a cock to Aesculapius'.
Aphrodite (Venus) - Goddess of sexual love, but also of affection; a BBW who loved to share.
Apollo (Phoebus) - God of poetry and music - he had affairs with Coronis, Daphne and Cassandra.
Ares (Mars) - God of war who had an illicit affair with Aphrodite who was married to Hephaestus at the time. (Don't tell Archangel, he won't approve.)
Argus - the many eyed monster. Good for gangbangs and bukkake parties.
Artemis (Diana) - The virgin huntress; perhaps a contradiction in terms on SH, though as a predatory woman she'd have fun among the single males!
Cassandra - a prophetess doomed by Apollo never to be believed, she ended up as Agammenon's slave. (Agammenon could be very dom at times.)
Centaur - Half man, half horse, they were known for their lust and drinking.
Cyclops - the original one-eyed monster!
Demeter (Ceres) - The godess of fruitfulness (wink, wink, say no more squire!).
Dionysus (Bacchus) - A fertility god, particularly of wine, a freer of emotions and remover of inhibitions.
Eos (Aurora). Goddess of the dawn, she had many lovers - including Orion the giant. (Giant what?)
The Erymanthian Boar - no not Gman (sorry), but this one did have to be bound with chains.
The Eumenides - otherwise known as the Furies, three ladies with attitude. Imagine them at a greedy girls' night.
Europa - Was given the first articial sex aid, the bronze man Talus, and then was taken by Zeus disguised as a bull. Yep, Europa got it on with a bull.
Hebe (Juventas) - the first YSL (young single female)
Hera (Juno) - Protectress of the home - and the jealous wife of philandering Zeus.
Hercules (Heracles) - The son of Zeus and ancient history's strong man, though Hera couldn't stand him.
Hermes (Mercury) - A precocious young man with light-fingered tendencies and the messenger of the gods.
Pan (Faunus) - Half man, half goat, he was the god of flocks and the rural scene. In modern day parlance, perhaps the god of dogging in rural laybys? What the flock?
Poseidon (Neptune) - God of earthquakes and the sea. Did the earth move for you? Also the god of horses and probably hung like a stallion too.
Zeus (Jupiter) - the supreme deity and the daddy of them all; promiscuous and fond of adopting various disguises to get his end away - see Europa for details!
This could be an interesting party theme too!
Sappho xxx
Id lke to be Adonis
But Im more Warwickus- half man half biscuit known for prodigius consumption of stellarus ( nectar of the Gods).
Prone to disastourus relationships with exwifeus who went off with younger Greek Adonis..
Actually I am very interested in ancient history . I ve got an A level in it (this last bit is true)
I ll probably spell this wrongly now but I used to love Gaius Gracchus title
Legibus Scribbundi et Republicae Constituendaie
and he was only a tribune of the plebs :!:
Right im off to find a Roman Orgy whos coming confused:

Well I couldn't find one that quite matched my profile ( I never qualify on all counts) but it has been said I can be excessively windy so I guess the above one is the closest I get.
Although on starry eyed reflection I often get the comment "Oh god its him!" when I walk in a room, so I must be some sort of deity.

Appollo was a smart cookie so I bet she never saw that one coming

this sex aid can still be seen today flying round the skies of the world and its named Europa in her honour!

Can one borrow such things? I may be interested if so but only if you can't see the join. lol
Hi Sappho,
This post stems from a recent conversation between the Bard and I

It should be "between the Bard and ME, surely!"
Nice post though...
Mike.
Well, how could I not post on here? dunno
I sort of 'adopted' Apollo when I was about eight. I thought being god of light, poetry and music seemed pretty cool. He would still be my chosen character. However, Sappho has also pointed out that I have a strong tendency to behave like Dionysus, an inveterate partygoer who likes nothing more than quaffing large quantities of wine (or pretty much anything else really redface). So a mixture of Apollo and Dionysus. That will do me.
As for Sappho. Well she has the slim, slender, smooth body of Artemis, with the heart and 'appetite' of Aphrodite , all finished off with the mind of Athenae (the goddess of wisdom). In short the perfect woman - well, for me at any rate :inlove: . We would be quite happy feeding each other ambrosia and nectar all day (as long as we can occasionally substitute it with champagne and strawberries! :twistedsmile. Pure contentment!
What about the other members of the Forum? The gods had so many different facets that they can each fit more than one person. Equally a member can fit more than one god. How about these...........
Fred has to be Pan - the troublemaker (in the best sense of the word. Mischevious, rather than malicious). Wherever Pan was there was ALWAYS trouble and the other gods usually had to come and sort it all out. Someone pass the pink fluffy handcuffs. Of course, Fred also bears a similarity to Zeus - complete with thunderbolts. Zeus also had all the women of the ancient world (mortal and immortal) falling at his feet. I am sure Fred could handle that. Mythology does not inform us whether Zeus had a love swing or not dunno
If Fred is Zeus then Wilma is Hera. Protectress of the home. Of course, Wilma doesn't have the slightest trace of the jealous streak that Hera had but every time you see her you want to hug her!!!! kiss
The Furies? Undoubtedly Jags, Kit and Wilma if you happen to upset them. Slaps all round! :eeek:
Eos, goddess of the dawn can only be Dawn_Mids (happy birthday once again, sweetheart!).
Pan's more rural side as keeper of the flocks and lover of all things pastoral has to be represented by artificer.
Mark as the undoubted god of all things on this site is a must for Zeus.
Now then........The Oracle at Delphi was dedicated to Apollo. It was inhabited purely by nubile young priestesses who were clothed in flowing white robes - and nothing else!! I had in mind see through white chiffon with perhaps a nice lacy white thong underneath. Sappho is High Priestess (obviously!!) but there is room for plenty more. So come on ladies, don't be shy. Who wants to come and tend to my oracular needs?
Will - far too worked up for this stage in his recovery and off to find a watering hole!

Aeolus - God of the winds and eternal muncher

That's me!! Just wish I could remember the last part of the Eternal Munch!! (He didn't wear pink knickers did he???) redface lol lol lol
So who's turn was it to do the ironing?? My money is on Will !!! lol lol lol

That's the great thing about the Greek gods. None of them wore much in the way of clothes! No clothes = no ironing!
Now, who's for another bottle of wine?
Will - starting to get to like this idea a bit too much!

You were under orders?
So a mixture of Apollo and Dionysus. That will do me.

A gorgeous man who loves poetry and a good wine in equal measure? Definitely the man for me .

Darling, your future has already been foretold - and mapped out to the last detail, believe me ! However, a little help tending to other needs might be of interest... (Offers on a postcard please to the Temple of Apollo, Delphi, Greece.)

i think i HAVE to go for this one!
I was wondering if any of the blokes got past Adonis and then I identified with Zeus - SHIT :!: :!:
Nothing stands out to me as thats me but im sure somebody will find somebody relevant to me.
