Hi folk, firstly can I say that I did search for this answer to no avail before I posted and would appreciate some advice. smile

As a 'full' paying member of SH I can obviously send and receive messages - my question is how can I tell if the person I'm messaging is a full member too and can reply to my PM?

If they have read it, then that means they can get into the system, and therefore should be able to reply.
No doubt someone teckkie will be along with a better answer

............the answer is, we can't tell if they are a full member or not, only clue is as Sarah says, if they pick up the pm or not biggrin

Hmmm...are you sure? I thought free members could read messages, just not reply, hence the ads that mention sending other contact details.

Could someone from Admin please clarify exactly what you can/can't do with the different levels of membership please.
There have been a couple of questions this week and none of us seem to really be sure.

so yes it does seem that if you joined the site after the changeover then you can read but not reply to mail confused

so maybe a little icon next to the members username would be a good idea so people know that they have a chance of getting a reply smile

on second thoughts not sure that would be such a good idea for the admin as it would mean the people who cant reply to mail wont get any mail so wouldnt be tempted to upgrade to full membership :?
