Would it be too bad to have an option on being able to turn the verifiquickie thing off? At least with the option the customer then has a choice making it more user friendly?

I've already asked that twice and got no response....
I noticed Steve I just wanted to add my voice to your enquiry the more the merrier maybe? Do you sort of get the feeling sometimes that if no one answers a question then maybe it will go away?
I'm sure thats not the case but it does feel like it sometimes :-(

Am asking for help please... when I look at our profile pics there is a face pic showing that was in our private gallery!
Is this just because im looking at it or are our faces on show to everyone?
would someone please just have a look and let me know if they can see us too
thanksxxx

Only you can see that pic....
And those who you invite to your private gallery :-)
Thankyou Steve it looks like it's on show to everyone
I just perved I mean looked and couldn't see any face pics dunno
I just "confirmed" that. All I see is this:

biggrin
Oh all right.... I was hoping for a perve! :-(
Thanks again...if I had read the forum all the way through I would have answered my own question lol
As for perving well...  what do ya think this is? some sort of swinging site wink
well im not convinced!!!
I cant belive that we didnt even get an email to say " check out the new site " or " please check your profile out as we have made some changes"
not everyone reads the forums so learning about all the new stuff ie quickie messages would be a bit harder.
Also when I clicked on my profile the face picture we had in private gallery was showing as the album cover!!! now I know what your saying that only I would be able to see it,,,,but when I used to click on my profile say from,,,,the chatroom, I could never see my private pictures but yet when I do it now I can see the album cover with my face on!!! ( scary I know)
Anyway like I say im not convinced so until all is sorted and my faith is restored I have deleted it off my profile alltogether
xxx
has the forum also changed, I used to be able to click on names from the front page ie: people who had started a thread
cant do it now confused

The only worry for me is that on the home page it clearly states
" We guarantee that your membership is 100% discreet and confidential!
We are registered under the Data Protection Act for your peace of mind.
We never pass any of your details to any third parties.
I hope that is still the case? dunno
Absobloodylutely!
Seriously guys, Admin are not going to sell, give away, auction, pass on or anything else, yours or other members details to another party. No way what so ever! They don't need to and they wouldn't think about doing it.
Barking up the wrong tree if you think that of this lot.
another one here really concerned about the quickie situation, so much so i'm considering leaving the site if its not resolved. So what? you may be thinking but it should be a strong indication about how some members feel about this. The quickies have only been around for 24 hours or so and I've already had personal info left on my profile for all to read when I haven't been around to delete it.
I've read through the thread and can't see the issues about quickies being addressed at the minute and hope that this is a sign that work is being done behind the scenes to work to a solution.
Could we please have a response as to whether quickies are here to stay and if so will there be the option to disable them if required or whether they can be approved first before they are published to the feed.
thanks in advance.
like wise, we have already deleted our pictures, and being from a small community, it wont take long for a stalker to find us. so far our names and private pics have been on view and so with location it would not take long for a determined person to turn up at our door. experience has shown us that 90% of those that we contact are not genuine,so we would be foolish not to consider their motives, wether they merely get their kicks from wasting peoples time or is there something more sinister in mind. Either way we dont realy want them posting public messages or be able to identify us.

Not intentionaly maybe but it seems that private things are on display to others? :dunno:
IF that is or has been the case, then that statement on the home page is not true. We expect discretion and confidentiality at all times. We have adjust our settings accordingly and hope our details remain exactly what we want them to be.....private unless we deem otherwise.
I'm amazed that the quickies haven't been disabled, until the issues have been addressed.
OK now I've just seen messages on someone's profile asking for a meet.
How much longer will this appalling cock-up be allowed to carry on?
And -
How many more times will people have to keep asking the same questions, which have to be answered by the poor mods - before Admin agree that a user manual would have been - and still would be - a good idea???
In edit - I like most of the changes - honest - but when it comes to discretion and privacy issuses, no wonder people are upset.
i know i raised it before about the manual or giving notice, but come on cant you see how many people are deleteing pics and profile info due to all of this?
surely that tells you people are not feeling secure?
ok there was a glitch and its being sorted but if only one persons privet info is displayed its one to many.
with so many previous glitches, crashes how do we know it wont happen again? safe than sorry, ive removed everything and check reguler that no malicious quickies are added
A manual or adding something to the help section would come in handy, at the moment were concentrating in getting all of the bugs and glitches resolved.
During the change all photo's flagged as private were put into private galleries, some people have found the use of folders confusing so were looking at the pic admin area and how things work in there.
Quickies, hiding, switching off etc is also on the list of things to look at.

Nevermind absobloodylutley - the situation has happened - peoples personal details and images have been made 'public'. It seems to me this is a result of poor prior testing or site management. I don't think anyone has, or is, suggesting this is deliberate but that is the situation. It seems pretty fair to suggest trust in the confidentiality of the site has been damaged.
A breach of confidentiality is a breach in confidentiality. Maybe a small itty bitty apology might be quite pleasant?

I apologise in advance, but I can't find the "soapbox" icon today. ;-)
I understand that it's easy to get worked up over serious matters like this, but it really needs to be seen in context. As far I'm aware there has not been a single case of anyone's private photos being made public by the design of (or problems with) the new site features.
Yes, there has been some confusion over the way private albums are displayed/thumbnailed to the owner of the profile, but nobody else can see them.
More confusion has been caused by people reading these incorrect reports and, believing they're at risk, deleting their private folders. Unfortunately that causes the previously private photos to be defaulted to the main folder. To fix that they've had to recreate the private folder or delete the photos.
In edit: I've just been told the backroom boys have removed the option to delete folders to stop the confusion over photos defaulting the main folder. It means there might be empty folders, but it removes the risk of making private photos public.
As for quickies: Yes - there was a problem where users were not able to delete them, but the site techies have worked to resolve that earlier today.
Please also remember that there's nothing that can be posted in a quickie note that couldn't be posted in the forum or the chatroom. They're all considered to be public spaces on the site and should be treated as such. As with the forums or chatrooms, if someone is breaking the site AUP they can be reported to a mod or Admin and appropriate action will be taken.
If anyone is experiencing a different problem they should open a support ticket to ensure the matter is investigated on a case by case basis.
OK... I'm off the soapbox now. Let the madness continue!
But the quickies are not moderated as are the chat rooms and forums confused And reporting via support ticket is a minimum of 24 hours for a reply and thats if you have extra's on your account.
I appreciate that the site is trying to evolve and that some of the stuff is cool, but the quickie thing is very suspect in my view. I can see no real value to it. Now a seperate messenger service private between members may be a different matter but the risk of information going public without moderation is just to great, The quickies as a viable addition to the site in this form is surely untenable?
Anyone concerned about missing public photos at the moment - please try this:
My profile, photos, view profile, photos (then can see public pics and private album). Same sequence with My adverts, photos, view profile, photos.
my private pics were visable to everyone who cared to look. it was a friend who alerted me to get my asre on line to delete, not a very comfortable situation to be placed in when your in a all day meeeting at work, cannot log into this site due to the nature of my job and have to wait 4 hours to get home and be able to do this.
my private pics were not all rude shots, but my face.
as there was no warning, no member could be forarmed and take precautionary measures ie delete pics.
I also dont want people knowing who is in my friends list. i didnt just use this private facility to message friends without searching for their profile, but to keep a eye on or reminder of members who have been arseholes to me in chat etc. i didnt want people to see this, i thought it was private.
re the quickies, well i understand if someone wrote something that broke the aup you culd ask for it to be dealt with, as in forum, but when im not here if someone decided to post my tell number, address, in forum then i feel the mods are monitoring the thread sand it wouldbe deleted dam sharp..
i dont presume they are checking everyones profiles for breaches of the aup in teh quickie messages.
i also understand that this was a glitch which is now looking at being fixed.
it just feels that alot of stress, not just to the effected users but the mods, admin could have been avoided if this had gone to consultation or at least we were warned.
im sorry if ive snapped during this phase, but i value my privacy and thorught i was a part of something that understood that and accepted it.
maybe i should have not forgotten the stealth cam issue. confused

But no one could see your friends list, you hadn't got one, you just had a favourite list which doesn't show
Just a thought Fem, your friend that saw your face pictures, could they have been on an allow list or invite at any point confused
im not the friend, but i did see fems post in the steam room and looked at her profile, all of her face pics were public at that time.

For what it is worth my only face pic was also public untilI figured out how to delete my pics.
Maybe just maybe one day Admin will test an upgrade prior to implementing it wink

OK well I can't explain why your face pic could have been showing but I can tell you that the site was tested and this was never an issue.
In fact, there is not issue for Ian and my other account, the pictures stayed private which just makes it so much harder for the techy guys to replicate the problem and to find a solution rolleyes
no,they were not in an invite from before, they had never seen my face before. i know that might sound odd to some but we chatted in chat etc and swapped mobiles but he had never seen my pics. he sent me a text saying wow brave of you to post your face pics, nice to finally see you.
at this i flipped and he said opps best get on line to delete confused

I can't remember who now, but someone messaged me earlier and I was able to view his private photos, and he'd never sent an invite before.
Why have the distances people are from one another been removed or is this a temp measure.
Thanks
same here with the private pics, had a personal one of jaq on a thumbnail, so did a random check of profiles, some had a thumbnail where private gallery pic is listed and some didn't, admit was only a few i saw with thumbnails, but i checked my profile as others see it and it could be seen.
just one about quickie messages, had one reappear tonight. was sent it yesterday, i deleted it yesterday, it went yesterday. wasn't there this morning and low and behold, was there tonight lol
This is such a lousy idea.
We never usually post in the forums (call us anti-social if you will), as we don't really want a trail of information about us lying around all over SH. But this has made us want to break our virgin silence.
We are genuine swingers who meet others from this site and who value our privacy in the utmost and this Quickie idea is a complete invasion of our privacy. Do the people who come up with these ideas actually swing for real? Or are they all webdesigners who have wasted too much time on Facebook.
If an opt out function for quickies is not very quickly implemented then sadly we will also be leaving the site.
Maybe next will be tagging in hardcore photos posted by other users?

I did say earlier that we were looking at quickies, we wil put an option in to disable them but we have to prioritise and whilst we make note of every comment in here we also take note of every other comment that hits us via the support tickets when we set the priorities, making sure that you all had the ability to delete unwanted quickies was high and we fixed that as soon as we were able to reproduce the problem (big thanks to person unamed that helped us reproduce the issue and fix it :inlove: ).
In the meantime as cu4b4ll pointed out there are other ways that people can post crap about others, it happens in the photo ads all of the time, thats dealt with on a report basis mainly and those dealing crap get shat on, those that leave shit on quickies will get the same treatment.
Moving on, we did test the new features before we rolled them out and we put all private pics into private albums, on hindsight allowing people to delete these albums was a big mistake, but thats been resolved.
I know some people get off on moaning, but this thread is about identifying glitches and getting them fixed, which is pretty much what were doing, so if you want to moan or gloat, go start a new thread or post in the steam room, but if you do start a new thread make sure its the first as there's no need for more than one dislike thread about the changes, its better that there all on the same place so that the griefers and harbingers of doom can get off on them.
I have no issue at all with feedback, it helps us set our priorities and make this place better, just go moan in the right place please.
Thanks for the reply Steve
We appreciate that there may be other ways that people can post obnoxious or even defamatory messages about other users, though the site as a whole kind of self monitors that and abuses are, it would seem, fairly quickly reported and taken down. This would not, we presume, be the case on profiles - which we imagine are not monitored at all.
We don't want to leave the site and have had several great years here, and look forward to the option to disable quickies ASAP.
Not sure, in any event, what benefits quickies have (in speed or convenience) over standard PM messages?
Thanks again.
