Flower, I never thought I'd see the day, but I actually agree with you 100%! :shock: ;) Of course it's a verification system under another name. The ability to leave messages underneath someone's profile is exactly how verification has been implemented on other sites. I can't really see any other purpose for the facility to leave public messages on a profile? confused dunno
It's all very well to say that's not the intent, but that's how it will be used, and it's all very well to say you can delete them if you don't want to use the feature, but once a de facto verification system is in place, there's obviously a massive incentive for users to use it as such, and a discincentive to opt out.

confused When I look at my profile and go into photo's section it has underneath my albums, named private cos thats what it should be, but as a thumbnail it has one of my pictures on there as album cover.. a face shot! One I definately do not want on public view. How do I remove it???? without removing my album :?

I'm pretty sure I saw an option where you can select/deselect an "album cover" - try that.
Edit: it's "album preview" and there's no option to not have any so if you don't want to use one of your photos in the album, you'll have to upload another pic to use!

it's ok.. I have found how to change the picture although I think it's crap. Mhy album is private so why do I need to choose one of those pics as album cover. rolleyes

They may not be visible - I've clicked on a few and they either show a PRIVATE icon or PHOTO COMING SOON icon. Perhaps this is being worked on at the moment and won't show a preview pic after all.

the infuriating thing is no one was told this was happeing, no one issued a guide, some people who only use the ads or have not logge din for a few days etc may still not be aware if their private pic is a album cover,there are unwanted quickie messages on their profie, that people can see their friends list etc etc.
would have been easier,if we were told this was about to happen. or a idiot guide was issued.
was the only thing learned from the last big change ( extras, stealth cams, winks)
that older(free) members will hate it feel its no longer "their" site and leave??

considering most of the panic and upset is caused from people thinking privacy is breached ie photos beng on display when they arnt (although mine were) if a guide had explained this it wouldhave saved alot of members distress?

Its a preview that only you see when managing photo's, none of the photo's in the private folder will be shown to anyone when viewing your profile unless you send them an invite.

If they don't log in and risk quick messages being seen, then they might never have seen a warning anyway.
If admin would have warned members, some would moan the changes were going to happen without even seeing them.

I hasn't been 'theirs' for a very long time but then I'm trying to make the best of what this site is and get what I want out of it :bounce:

SH would never risk anyones privacy knowingly so they could not plan for any glitches that didn't show during the testing stage.

Me too and I think the changes are mostly very good......Like giving the house a lick of paint.....Makes it feel like a new house....

We are registered under the Data Protection Act for your peace of mind.

Would it be too bad to have an option on being able to turn the verifiquickie thing off? At least with the option the customer then has a choice making it more user friendly?
