I have always enjoyed a good party with great music, I am a 70's jazz fuck girl at heart but would dance to any old music really even if crap. lol
I don't need a drink to dance and enjoy myself I have been known through the years to be first up on the dance floor.
I can't help it, as some of you know from coming in my room I think I am just mad.
So what style of music do you like?
Are you a dancer?
Or a lame duck that just sits and observes?
Do you need a drink to act a fool?
I drag the lame ducks up to dance so don’t come to my party
I'm afraid I'm shy so I tend to be a lame duck unless I'm dragged onto the dance floor. I don't need a drink to dance but it sometimes helps me get started if noone's doing the dragging wink
I quite like sitting on the sidelines and indulging in a bit of people-watching smile especially if they're enjoying the contents of the bar.
I don't dance. Ever.
I'm not all that impressed at being referred to as a lame duck though! confused
I have been known to be a bit of a party animal in my "younger days" but now I feel like a lame duck with both feet chopped off.
Defo a dancer, but it has to be fueled by cheap vodka!! I play in a party band and it's quite funny watching it from on stage, and it's wierd how you think people will dance to certain tracks but not others!

It must be great watching people like me from the stage as I cant even dance lol
What songs get people up the most?
I am a 70's girl so like all the old stuff.
Sad I know  but I think old songs work the most.

Well, we don't really do that much older stuff, more mid-nineties alt stuff, however, Teenage Kicks is always popular, and of course a bit of Blondie!

Blondie lol The mens pin up of the 70's is she still a favourite of the teens? I guess not just a bit for the DJ
Btw welcome to the forums!!!
Why thank you! Mat here, you won't get Sara posting on here much - she don't get forums confused wink
We do "Call Me", I think a lot of the indie kids like it, bit retro and that. Personally, anything Britpop will get me up, Pulp - Common People was a massive anthem for me a *cough*few*cough* years ago, as was Nothing by "A" (of which I've just posted in another thread!

rolleyes Neither. I'm a party animal who doesn't dance. I don't just sit and observe, I chat to people and enjoy myself in ways other than dancing. Although yes, once I've had a few drinks I'll probably have a dance as well.
"Lame duck" is pretty insulting to people who prefer not to dance though confused It implies a lot of things which aren't true, and just because people aren't dancing doesn't mean they're just "sitting and watching other people enjoy themselves"

Dare not take my shoes off though as there is then not a hope in hell of getting them back on :lol2:

There's been more than one occasion when Sara will take a pair of trainers out with her when we go into town....

An insult is only one that is taken in that way, It wasent meant to be an insult but I guess others will be by to tell me otherwise too, seems lately whatever I say offends some.

I'm sure you didn't mean it with bad intent. wink
It's just a little bit of a poke in the eye to be seen as a lame duck just because I don't dance. My dad is exactly the same. I can't think of anything worse. I watch people dancing and I don't feel any urge to do it.
Just because I don't dance doesn't make me bad company which is kinda what a "lame duck" implies. I can have fun without dancing, just like I can have fun without drinking. Doesn't make me lame, just different.
No harm done though. I like ducks.

Oooh noo can't walk bare footed lol. After a party last year where I danced a lot, I made the mistake of trying to walk back to the hotel bare footed.... it ended up with me being carried back on the shoulders of two 6'plus friends, then getting a fireman's lift and then the pair of reprabates eventually leaving me sat on top of a post box  :lol2:
They obviously don't know a good opportunity when they see it rolleyes

I accept that it wasn't meant to be insulting, but just to explain why I did initially feel slightly put out by it....
Duck: The phrase a lame duck implies that a person or business is ineffectual. It was coined by the great actor Garrick in a play he wrote in 1771. In the play he describes Stock-Jobbers (dealers) in the Stock Exchange who could not or would not pay their debts as follows; Change Alley bankrupts waddle out (like) lame ducks. The expression was taken up by the Stock Exchange itself. It then spread to the USA where it came to be applied to politicians near the end of their term of office and therefore ineffectual.

As I say, I accept that Minxy didn't intend to be insulting, I just wanted to reply to your question TabbyTina wink

Some I know are people watchers and like to see other having a good time, my daughter is one of those, she will be able to tell me after a function everything that was happening around me, what earrings some were wearing and someone had lovely shoes, she loves observing and studing people. Me I am just oblivous to all around me, it takes alsorts to make the world go around, and anyway if you were all dancers I wouldnt have enough room too!
