There's a dating site called Kindred Spirits that list a dozen or so automated replies along the lines of, "I havn't subscribed yet but will contact you when I do", or "Thanks but I'm exclusive at the moment" type of thing.
Having just mailed six local people of similar age and pervy intent and not had a single reply, I wonder if it might be a good idea for SH to introduce 10 automated replies as an aid to posters, and for those with busy lives or hundreds of replies. A check box might allow the same reply to go to multiple mailers.
In my case, since I have no pics, one click replies might be -
Show me ya cock
or
Show me a mug shot
If SH introduced that feature, what "one click" replies would you like to see?
completely agree with vampanya if you can be bothered to do no more than press a button for an automated reply then dont bother at all
surely even people with busy lives can find a few minutes to write something and if not how do they expect to find time to meet up
automated replies just breed timewasters and god knows there are enough already
thats our thoughts anyway
Well yes, if you're at the popular end of SH, vis young, female, or vwe you can afford to take that view, but for myself any response would be better than being ignored, and even if you are at the popular end and have (say) 30 replies from single males, how many take the trouble to offer an individual reply to all?
I dont reply to winks because they are unimaginative and lazy. I'm not going to start sending winks as replies for the same reason. If someone has taken the time to type words they get typed words back even if its short and sweet, however many emails i get. I call it good manners.
I get winks, loads of em, even though it says on my profile I wont ever reply to winks. Why should i then reply saying I wont reply to winks? If they've not read it its not up to me to point it out again.
I'm with Tan--Kinky on this one i'm afraid.
If you reply with a "thanks but no thanks" or "you haven't read our profile", you get mouthfuls of abuse (and it happens frequently), or endless mails trying to get you to change your mind.
If you reply to every single response you get, then they respond again, what do you do? Reply again, whilst still trying to keep up with the new mails coming in? You'd never get anything done!
I think if you have no response, it's safe enough to accept it as a no.
Having said that, we do try to reply to the well though out e mails.

for something like a munch i was told to create an event in the proper forum and get them to add names in there then just send 1 mail and its sent to all confirmed participants but i may have got that bit wrong
