The BBC is on the hunt for Brittain's first Doggers - to find out where the term came from.
Bosses of the show Balderdash and Piffle which traces the meaning of words, also want explanations for other naughty terms such as wazzock-prat-tosser-wally-the dog's bollocks and marital aid.
They also hope to find out why Gordon Bennett's name has been taken in vain for 3 decades, and where Jack the lad and Bloody Mary came from.
The BBC2 program starts in the spring.
So I thought I could just send them an email directing them here, and you guys can fill them in so to speak! No pun intended!!
I know where the term prat comes from, it's actually an abreviation for
Person's Really A Twat!! P-R-A-T
biggrin
