If you're thinking of 'being there', perhaps in a club and suchlike, I might suggest that in 'real-life' away from all the pretty pictures and glamourous website home pages, there is a much wider variety of participants than you might imagine.
If you are a member of any interactive websites of that persuation (you know, forums and all that, like this, only specialised) I suggest you look around for places where you might feel comfortable attending, ask around there... meet people at socials ... pretty much a folk seem to do here... and you may get to see the 'real-people' and not the 'models'. Lifes rich tapestry and all that.
You never know... some people may even practice such deviancy on this very site.
