Pantene Schmantene! Don't buy expensive shampoo and conditioner.....use the dog's shampoo! Their coats are always sleek and shiny. Well, have you ever seen a dog with dandruff or having a bad hair day? Well, have you?!
Make your own exfoliant. First of all, stock up on Shape yogurt from Tesco ( expecially when they've got them on a BOGOF ) then crack walnuts between your womanly thighs, feed the nuts to your man  and mix the crushed shells with the yogurt for a gloriously fresh exfoliant. You may find it better to buy the non fruit yogurt as the strawberries tend to slip off rolleyes
Feel free to share your secrets with the SH community biggrin
**I take no responsibilty if anyone is daft enough to try any of these tips!**
the shiney-dog effect is, I believe, all down to the beneficial effects of Marrowbone.
make of that what you will

If your in a rush and have no time to wash your hair, just wash the front and tie the rest up. Alternitivly just dust a small amount of talc into the roots and roots and brush it out!!
Not one to pull a product to pieces but that Pantene is sh*te, it makes my head itch that and Treseme however you spell it. Tigi is about the best for my head, smells divine and doesn't irritate my skin (if you buy the 1000ml it lasts nearly a year!).
As for skin therapy, I've heard something similar with avocado, something in the natural oils which is wonderful for the skin... oh that and some fluid that belongs to a man
wink

I think I'm gonna lop my locks off! I get through a bottle of conditioner a week confused
if you find that even after using conditioner or that you are using loads to get the silky soft effect heres my advice ...... only use a small amout (depending on hair length) and rub well in .... but dont rinse it out ...... use too much and your hair will look greasy the next day ... practice with different amounts and post your results here (i have very long hair and the amount i use is the size of a 50p)

You're joking! good god girl, you just need a teeny tiny bit. My hairdresser pal says all us women use way to much shampoo and our hair really needs only a tiny bit to clean it the rest just slides off. lol
It's the conditioner I get through lots of. Shampoo, just enough to get a lather!
I have a complete mass of long, dark, thick wavy hair which was damaged by years of bleaching. rolleyes
For soft, silky skin tie a handful of porridge oats into the end of an old clean stocking (NOT FISHNET!!!) and dangle it under the hot tap of the bath. Swish it about in the bath and use it as a scrubber too.
This is totaly excellent for anyone (including kids) with eczema. Just make sure you rinse it off with a sponge.
For a delish scent - add a tiny bit of rosemary or thyme to the bag.
I tried not washing my hair at all (saw it on TV) - just a water rinse once a week. No shampoo etc. After 2 weeks my hair was disgucting. After 4 it was fabulous. Apprently using shampoo and conditioner is one of the main reasons we need to use shampoo in the first place.
I swear by my smoked mackeral exfoliant.

I read something about this somewhere. Some students at uni actually did an experiment and found that after, as you say, about 4 weeks the itching and greasiness went away and the hair became shiny full easy to manage, split ends were a thing of the past and the longer they left it (i think the experiment went on for a year) the better it got
I heard something along those lines as well.......
No wonder why some students look so dirty!!

No, that's because they spend so much on booze they can't afford shampoo rolleyes
I remember trying advacado mashed and rubbed into my hair rolleyes , It didn't mash that well and I looked like someone had puked over my head redface
Alas hair didn't look any better and no glossy locks either. I did try mayonnaise once as well. I think I saw Julia Roberts doing it in a film........... that didn't work either lol
