So lady's, do you like being beeped at by men in cars and wolf whistled at by builders on scaffolding?
From our own stance Mrs Tweeky always takes it as sarcastic. With her often rather negative self impression she always thinks that beeps and whistles are a joke. I know thats not the case but you cant convince her of that so Mrs Tweeky does not like it sad Me! Would love to be beeped by a pink Nova full of sexy ladies and have "Get your cock out for the girls" shouted at me . For ladys with a positive self attitude I dont get why you would not like to be beeped and whistled? Surely it is just a verification that your hot?
It doesnt happen to me
Glad though!! I dont take compliments very well as like Mrs Tweeky, I have a low impression of myself. Maybe its a girl thing?
A third here with the same view as Mrs Tweeky i'm afraid. I think a lot of it does have to do with self image. On the odd occasion I get anything like that and i'm feeling good about myself then it's great. The rest of the time, I take it as sarcastic.

I love it!
I just wish it happened more often :lol2: if indeed ever anymore... rotflmao

For you wink
I walked onto teh shop-floor at work and heard a wolf-whistle.
I looked around expecting to find that a secretary had followed me in.
I don't take them as directed at me - or if it's obvious they are, then, like others, I take it as sarcasm.
I certainly would never consider it a compliment. What kind of compliment is a random man whistling at you like you are some kind of dog expected to come to heel?
I just don't take it that seriously to be offended - when I was younger (and did get whistled or beeped at) then it just made me laugh!
I'd never turn round if I heard someone wolf whistle, I dare say I'd assmue they were whistling at someone else. lol
it happened when i was younger and to be honest it was not taken as a compliment or sarcasam but as quite intimidating. does any single female walking along the road enjoy having strangers/ men making lued gestures at her?
its very uncomfortable, you ignore it and may be seen as a up your own arse or snob, and had that shouted back afterwards, you smile and appear big headed or could be acussed as leading someone on.
you dont know what that female has experienced in life or that day, the last thing she may need is a stranger harrasing her.
maybe some women like it, i think its crude and i dont like it.

you beat me to it, I never look coz why would they be beeping at me :eeek:
Interesting views so far all.
Note most of you seem to have a problem identifying if the beep or whistle is for you. Hmm maybe we should be beeping then lean out of the window and wave at the same time.

Must at this point say also I am not a whistler. I am not a beeper either, well ok thats a lie  On the odd occasion if I do see what I consider to be a hotty but she is sadly facing in the wrong direction. I'll beep lightly so she turns round but I always pretend it was not me that beeped and never look directly lol
On the other side of the coin... I was walking home the other night and there was a guy walking along in front of me... he had a lovely bum and I almost told him so when we stopped at the crossing. Then I decided that whilst it might make his day that someone thinks he has a nice bum, it would probably be weird and he'd think I was some mad perverted stalker so I didn't.
How would you react if a girl came up to you and said you had a nice bum? dunno

What if you didn't think she wasn't a hottie?
But I'm just not that brave. However, walking along behind him gave me a bit of a spring in my step! :rascal:

This is where my objection comes in,in what kind of view of the world does a man assume a woman wants or needs verification from a random stranger that she has somehow managed to reach his oh so impeccable standards of hotness.
Then of course there are the whole trail of ideas that follow from the "innocent beep" that she is wearing the nice clothes to attract men, that she is available, that she wants attention,it is called culture and it exists.
i dont get offended ,i simply accept there are many men on the planet who fall very short of the standards i set, luckily there are a few who exceed them so much that i am a very happy bunny.
In most cases its just innocent fun. On some occasions and I would say very rarely in my opinion from working on building sites its an invitation to return a comment and then who knows what else (in a good way I mean). Woman probably get far worse approaches in nightclubs and think nothing of it but because its mid day and they are in office clothes then its somehow now offensive? Its just one other form of communication and if people of either sex cant cope with other people of the world communicating with them then perhaps they should stay indoors. Dont over analyze the situation! As said above Ive worked on building sites and never have I seen anyone run down the road after a lady who did not respond to a wolf whistle. I would think to if someone did they probably wouldn't have a job for very long. If people dont like it ignore it and just walk on.
I read what you say and I read what Fem said above. Living with Mrs Tweeky who can quite easily take a comment or something else totally out of context I see this from both sides. Unfortunately though due to the sensitivities of a few the rest of the world cant walk round on egg shells.
