We recently bought a 12mp Vivitar digital camera to replace our old 8mp camera and have to say, it's the worst camera we have had, takes terrible pictures/video indoors and outdoors and the video recording has a buzzing in the background.
Has anyone got and idea for a good digital camera, must be good for taking ermmm pictures and video including lots of skin redface pref with a good video light on it.
We only have about £250 to spend on it so none of these £1500 cameras lol
Fankoooooo!

Most of my favorite home movies have something buzzing in them :rascal:
Nikon Coolpix S9100 sits in your price range, expect to pay £150-£180.
Its great indoor and out - indoor flesh tones can appear a little palid when using the flash but you will find that with many mid range cameras costing a lot more.
Things like that can be easily fixed with free software with a quick touch up
I am becoming good at a quick touch up - but prefer a long slow fumble ;)
I've got a Nikon Coolpix S9100, which is 12.1 megapixels with an 18x wide optical zoom and full HD with video and stereo recording. Cost less than £200 and takes great pics  and also does special effects too.
Hope that helps.

Thanks!
What are the 2 above like for recording video indoors as the one I have always looks to red and grainy, mine say's it does HD video but it just looks like a video I have zoomed into to be honest.
Yep I know I could get more light but we already have 6 lights on the ceiling, I have even tried holding a super bright LED torch while filming Shaz having a leg over but it still looks grainy
ooooooh nice!
I like this part "No matter what kind of light you shoot under, the highly sensitive back illuminated CMOS image sensor captures scenes just as you see them"
The COOLPIX S9100 - a slim super-zoom for superior images in any situation. 18x super-zoom with a stunningly slim body Back illuminated 12.1 megapixel CMOS image sensor Full (1080p) HD movie-recording with stereo sound 7.5 cm (3-in.), 921k-dot LCD monitor Packing a huge 18x zoom lens into an incredibly slim body, the COOLPIX S9100 lets you close in on your subject in style wherever you go. The versatile NIKKOR lens offers wide-angle to super-telephoto coverage, while the cameras compact dimensions make it ideal for carrying around. No matter what kind of light you shoot under, the highly sensitive back illuminated CMOS image sensor captures scenes just as you see them. Sensor-Shift Vibration Reduction ensures sharp photos and movies, even when shooting at the telephoto end of the zoom.

ooo It depends on what we used to do! lol
In Edit : oops sorry mal, I forgot we had couples blocked, fixed it now
All of our pics are taken on a mobile phone camera (an old one). We did get a new digital camera but it takes horrid pictures!
We dont display new pics here any more so cant show examples but we find the setting, type of pic and the photographer far more important. Have a Fuji a850 that cost about 50 quid and does the job fine. Set up for a shoot and just take lots of pictures. Some come out great by default some look great with a few added effects like sepia etc. One more point I will add is its good if the pics do look a bit amateurish. I have skipped past profiles where the pics are too professional thinking its probably a fake profile with pics nicked from magazines

I have an Alcatel 990 smart phone (budget smartphone) and with it's 5mp camera it takes better video and pictures than this Vivitar grrr

Oh I don't want them looking professional, just clear!
The pics on our profile are either taken with our old camera or with new one but really bright light just about up Sharons ass lol
I haven't taken videos for years, but I always found the best thing was quick hands and large pockets
At £250 you'd be looking at a bridge camera, something like this
|category_root|Photography|14419436/c_2/2|14419436|Digital+cameras|14419441/c_3/3|cat_14419441|Bridge+digital+cameras| (you'll have to copy and paste the link- its not working for some reason?)
Then you'd need to buy an SD card or two, depending on how much you shoot and if you want to have lots of space for holidays etc- this should be more than enough

As a guide, i have a DSLR and two 4gig cards which at maximum quality hold the best part of 600 pictures between them and about 5000 if i choose 800x600 pictures (which still look great). Video does eat up the memory but again, as a guide, i use DSLR cameras at work to shoot adverts, music vids etc and an 8gig card gives me about 28 minutes in best quality.
For the light, don't get a built in one. they're usually shite and as they're mounted in the middle of the camera you get flat light. using one of these put the light to the side and gives you more depth and a better picture. it also has its own battery so it won't eat up your camera batteries.

Your alternative of course is to buy a compact separate stills and video cameras
I'm going to get the COOLPIX S9100 as it's small and I can get it in my pocket when we go out but The light you posted is a good idea, cheap to.
I see they can be linked together also so might get a couple just to be sure.
Memory cards I have a 16gig one here already that I bought for my current camera although found out it would only see up to 8gig grrrr
I will give this silly Vivicam T325 to my youngen to muck about with as thats about all it's good for, a kid.
Thanks all for the help.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll put a note in the diary so we can get all the mods on line doing photo approvals for a couple of weeks.

Show us the quality of image then ;)
We have met someone and tested it out so will upload a couple later hehe
I'll always swear by Panasonic Lumix cameras if you just want a point-and-shoot. My old man has had a DMC-FX07 for years and I've had a DMC-FX35 since 2008, and they're both brilliant cameras. Both a couple of years old now so you can pick them up for under £100 new.

I have uploaded 6 lol, you get to see the private ones also as you a mod, crafty that lol
Impressive!
Is it easy to use? I need a new camera l but I have no idea about all the gadgets and gizmos some of them come with. Right now we just use the ones in our phones so I want something I can point and click to get good results. You know, auto focus, auto flash etc.

Oh its great, 100 times better than our old cam. it has an auto function for if you are new to it so don't have to know all the settings but then when you feel like a tweak it has a in depth manual that comes on cd.
But yes, real good. even the video turned out ok under normal room lighting.
So glad the others earlier on in this thead told me about it hehe
Tony :-)
looked through.. which are new? ;)
