I received an email supposedly from steveg_nw the other day with an attachment entitled "Video Clips". Since the last time we saw him was September, we emailed asking if it was from him before opening it. Luckily he replied telling us it wasnt him and not to bother opening it. So if you receive an email and you are not 100% sure it is from who it claims to be from, then please DO NOT open it without first emailing the other person to check!!
Just a warning.............
Cheers for the warning...
I got a safety harbour email apparently from ebay asking me for me credit card details and everything but something made me want to double check so i went to the help page on ebay and foudn that they NEVER ask for such details via email. I've felt so uneasy since then about doing things via the internet. Its quite spooky how good these cons are!!!
Weve had that prob before and had emails sent to us supposedly from peeps on also had someone telling us we sent them a virus!!!Its ok if youve got it automatically sends it to junk mail and wont let you open it biggrin
Thanks for the warning also,
I got a email from a member on here that wanted to meet up looks like I will have to delelte - such a shame she is nice ;)
There are loads like this on at the moment...usually they have a number in the title and request credit details...etc....

I think some common sense is all that's needed. I do about 90% of my business on the Internet through my shopping site, like most sites the transfer of credit card information is secure, the idea that it's an unsafe way to shop is just not true. You're much more at risk losing your card information buying a pizza, and check where the security cameras are before using chip and pin anywhere.
Responding with card information just because someone asks for it and appears to be your bank or eBay is a scam that would only catch the mentally infirm. You did exactly the right thing, I did the same the first time, so I don't think you're a likely candidate for a rip-off. Natural caution keeps us safe.

Standard virus dissemination practice is to randomly use "from" email address's as they are more likely to be opened that way. Worth running a virus check but if the virus software is up-to-date it's almost certainly not you.

I got the same e-mail and yes it was from steveg_nw. Definitely wasn't me that sent it though.
