You may have read about the planned new law that allows government agencies to monitor which sites we visit and who we send e-mail to. Some may even be thinking about demonstrating against it.
Well you are too late. For years I have been getting adverts for everything from condoms to sex toys, and from dating sites to swinging sites. I am sure there is an old lady somewhere being inundated with adds for cat food and lavender soap.
The fact is we have had our internet activity monitored and exploited for many years. Perhaps it is time we had some laws to protect us.

Travis,
The use of your PC or laptop internet usage is not the only thing that's monitored!
The Two big mobile OS providers Apple and Google along with the providers of the APPS you install on your chosen device also have access.
The use of GPS location services, IP checking has been going on for a longtime and imho has its benefits, the latter having the ability to weed out fakes.
My own rule of thumb, only share on the internet what your comfortable with about yourself.
I installed the browser plug-in a few weeks ago after it was recommended by .
It blocks advertising websites from tracking your movements and stops them from tailoring adverts to your activity. It seems to do a reasonable job, and it's quite scary how many things it blocks over time!
i find this works very well ............
if we was to do anything dodgy or want to keep what we do or what sites we visit we use google chrome's incognito window which does not allow cookies to be stored or any personal information on the pc. the down side is that it does not keep ou logged in once the window is closed .. good thing or bad thing depends on if you wanted to stay logged in i suppose
make sure you use Firefox instead of internet explorer. And download some of the privacy plugins,
I don't see the problem to be honest. I've nothing to hide, I'm not doing anything illegal and I can't see the powers-that-be having more information about me making my life any harder. If it helps prevent crime, then go for it!
