Well this morning for the first time in quite a few years I woke up screaming from what was a very strange nightmare. It was something like this...
There was a very disturbed young man who moved back into home after having some problem or something with his partner. He had a real fetish for blue and use to paint his mum blue and ask her to cuddle him, which of course was a little strange and he was very dangerous if he didn't get his blue cuddle then he would get voilent and the only thing that would calm him down was to get his blue way. She stayed with him for a while to protect others but of course when enough was enough and he was alseep and she was coated in paint she decided to make a run for it. She crept downstairs opened the door after panicking at the noise opening the door was making she started to run down the street, just a normal
housing estate type place. As she ran she glanced back at the open door and couldn't see him following and as she ran she saw other people a black and white couple, an asian couple. She turned a corner in the street glancing back to see her son just leaving the house and looking around not having spotted her. Running down the side road strange I know she saw a couple where the man was painted blue and was starting to think that maybe her son wasn't so strange. As she was pondering this she glanced back and saw her son round the corner. She immediately jumped a low wall and laid down behind it panicking and trying to be still. Looking up she could see the man painted in blue looking over the wall at her stomach. She looked down to see what he was staring at, to see her sons face looking back at her as he had caught up with her.
I woke up screaming....
So what is your most strange nightmare?
My ex wife remarried me without my knowledge and I went to bed in my own nice flat and woke up back in my old marital home..... ffs...... what a nightmare!!! .... hehehe
(Not really ..........)
The wierdest dream I ever had (and this dream recurrs every so often) is that I am walking home from the pub and it starts to rain so I start to run. I then find myself taking the space of three strides with each step until I am not running but bouncing along the road like a triple jumper does. The faster I bounc the higher I go and eventually I take off and I am flying..... faster and faster .... I pass aeroplanes and eventually leave the Earth's atmosphere. It's at this point I always wake up.
I have a recurring nightmare, which occasionally changes but always starts out the same.
I'm in a hot foreign country, on a dusty road and with some unknown people who have a camper van. There are loads of people fleeing in the same direction on this dusty road on foot... and catching up is a gang of Nazis.
The camper van has run out of petrol, I have just enough time to put a tiny bit of petrol in, enough to get to the next petrol pump just up the road....as the nazis catch up and start killing everyone around the van by hitting them in the head with a spade.... as me and the unknown people in the van drive off...
...we get to the next petrol pump and have just enough time to put a little bit of petrol in ....as they catch up again... it's horrible... and feels like it goes on all night.
Strangely i had a dream last night about TnH writing his name everywhere, like a tagger, but it was TnH written upside down... weird.
Ooooooooooooo Postie mentioned Nazis!
I have to sleep with a night light on as i have the same nightmare... time after time...
I am lying in bed... i can see a shadowy figure at the end of the bed.... he is wearing a hood over his head.. the place where his face should be is empty..... he reaches over to touch my face... and thats the point where i wake up properly... shaking with fear.. my heart racing with absolute terror.....
I have had this nightmare for about the last 6 years... and i thought that it might stop once we moved house... but it hasn't... it has the power to absolutely terrify me and i can be unconsolable for several minutes on waking up from it... So the night light stays on and i always have to have the doors checked to make sure they are locked at night... and when i go to sleep... i just hope that it wont come back... it hasn't for about 3 weeks now.. but i just know that soon it will....

Recurring Dreams
Many people have the same or a similar dream many times, over either a short period of time or their lifetime. Recurring dreams usually mean there is something in your life you've not acknowledged that is causing stress of some sort. The dream repeats because you have not corrected the problem. Another theory is that people who experience recurring dreams have some sort of trauma in their past they are trying to deal with. In this case, the dreams tend to lessen with time.
Nightmares are dreams that are so distressing they usually wake us up, at least partially. Nightmares can occur at any age but are seen in children with the most frequency. Nightmares usually cause strong feelings of fear, sadness or anxiety. Their causes are varied. Some medications cause nightmares (or cause them if you discontinue the medication abruptly). Traumatic events also cause nightmares.
Treatment for recurring nightmares usually starts with interpreting what is going on in the dream and comparing that with what is happening in the person's life. Then, the person undergoes counseling to address the problems that are presumably causing the nightmare. Some sleep centers offer nightmare therapy and counseling. Another method of treating nightmares is through lucid dreaming. Through lucid dreaming, the dreamer can confront his or her attacker and, in some cases, end the nightmares.
