At least they wont have to watch it rolleyes
But seriously, I'm not with you here. Why should it be an issue?
I expect BB have put a blind person in to create some kind of issue to increase ratings rolleyes
Me, I don't see what difference it makes dunno
I once entered for a reality TV show, and I got past the first hurdle and to the interviewing stage ... and I realised then that the selection was being based on who would provide the most controversial, argumentative, and watchable show possible ... and I was not selected ... and I am eternally grateful for that!
He has an unfair advantage
some of the people will find it harder to nominate a person that is blind.
I think BB is just cheap and tacky

should have told them you were a swinger on a swingers site..... if that doesn't make you controversial nothing will
wink
I suppose that if one wasn't being sensitive about this then you could say that the blind guy got onto/into BB because he was blind and that would add another tasty morsel for the public to sate themselves with. It could then be argued that he has as much right to go on BB as any other. I would agree whole heartedly with this. Though i do believe the choice was probably not made for the rights as a person more rather the 'defference'
Oh bugger it its for titillation value next time it could be a dwarf or a deaf person, wheelchair user, dumb, foreign non-English speaking, black, white, ye;;ow obese. Limbs missing, old etc etc etc c'mon its a freak show full stop irrespective of who is there, it doesn't represent a fair cross section of society just a bunch of people purpose picked for the job.
This could never hold anything of value from a scientific nature surely.
Your point is??? blind?, fully sight? does it make any difference? dunno
Actually, I think your comment really stinks, sorry but his disablement makes no difference whatsoever.

the untouchable people who just walk into a forum, and halter insults in full view of admin yet nothing can be done about it,am so disgusted.....if you dont have opinion about the issue why insult the rest
have opt out of abusive language for this week doesnt help with my health
dont watch it,but if they put a blind person in,it is obviously to get a are there to make anyone really think it`s a fair playing field
?this is very close to being on par with the roman arena but without the blood, although the mental pain doesn`t come back to the producers. maybe it should
Equality is a word that springs to mind.
As much as I dislike the programme I still find myself tuning in for the "entertainment" (I use that word losely) value.
My feelings are that he has as much right to be in there as any of the other contestants.
Bound to be some mixed views on this one smile
Forget the blind bloke.
I didnt see the last fw ppl go in on thursday so i wasched last night.
What in heavens name had that masseuse got on her feet lol
My opinion:
- of course he has every right to be there
- yes I think he has an unfair advantage (he's already been tipped to win  )
- it's good for viewers - and employers - to break down prejudice and see beyond his disability
- I think the show brought him in to boost ratings, and he will be well aware of this
I actually think it's a good thing. And as time goes on, and his personality comes out, hopefully the residents and the public will vote according to that.

Untouchable? don't be childish. I've hardly breached any rules to be told off for have I?
And why would you be wanting to use abusive language in the first place? Look, I'm not going to get into 'you said this, I said that'.
I do agree with others in that it will boost ratings and the people who assist him in the house will be looked upon favourably as well.

Isn't that what every person in the house is there for? Why single out the blind man, Phuckers? Why not any one of the other people in the house?

Yeah I do think that's what they are all there for.
But, for the reasons I said, I think the blind man adds an extra dimension that, as far as I can remember, hasn't been done before.

I think maybe this was my point, I didn't mean to sound so harsh in my first reply Phuckers, I just can't understand why it makes a difference in the first place to comment about
I'm not the BB fan in our house  so I cant really comment to much on having the blind chap there!!!
What I will say is:- what if he was'nt blind!!! but just a very very good actor his sitting there on the bed the ladies are getting changed & he gets thebest show lol.....

Good for him! lol
Another question
Was he chosen for his merits
or soley for the fact he is blind ?
I think we all know the real answer
Positive discrimination is a wonderful thing
I'm not sure that "merits" is the correct word in this program - some of them are nasty!

Do we know though?!
From the bit I saw on the launch show, he said he does stand up comedy and likes to wear women's underwear (which his family don't know about - or should that be didn't!) So, is he on there because he is blind, or because he cross-dresses, or perhaps because they think his stand-up experience will add comedy value?
Who knows? dunno
If however, his inclusion on the show challenges any stereotypes that people have about disabilities in general or blindness in particular, then surely it can only be a good thing? If he turns out to be a throroughly annoying, unpleasant person then surely he will just be voted out same as anyone?

I dont know how many thousand idiots auditioned for the show but Im pretty sure he was chosen for the wrong reasons. Of course I could be wrong and he could have an amazing personality, but I havent watched the show this year.

If he turns out to be a good, interesting character then I will maybe change my opinion. But judging the show on past examples I dont think its really a crazy thing to believe he was solely chosen because of his "handicap".
first..lets remember..he wasn't just plucked from the street ..he applied and has just as much right to be there as anyone else.
Secondly..the programme is designed as entertainment...so its no good puting in 14 geeks that are shy and don't talk much. the whole idea of the selection process..is to find interesting peiople and see how they will mix. the fact he is blind does make it interesting....to see how others react and how he reacts to them.
I actually think he will last right to the end...and has a good chance of winning...
