went to do the last of my Xmas shopping yesturday & alot of the shops are already reducing items for the sale.
wtf  the toys are all half price :censored:
the clothes- 2o% off :censored:
most of all- the computor we've bought our daughter has 200 quid knocked off it now banghead :banghead:
You can't win- its not fair if she doesn't get some nice pressies & I'm then skint after Xmas so I can't go round the sales
what do you guys n gals think?
I'm a typical 'bloke' and if I have to do shopping I do it at the last minute and smile to myself at all the stuff left on the shelves. biggrin Especially at reduced prices
Christmas is no longer Christmas anymore, it's just commercial and a money grabbing time for the retailers..
This is why, for the adults, the feeling of Christmas has gone.
Only childern, who are naive to the cost, feel it is Christmas.
Bah Humbug.
On the point of sales, one Petrol Station was already advertising Easter Eggs
dont believe in sales any more evil they are just a marketing gimmick now used to lure us to buy what we dont need biggrin we decide what we want then search for it at the lowest cost, even then the following week ya will see it cheaper somewhere else. Ya makes ya choice and pays ya money out :D As for comps I have never bought one off the peg always had it built using the ingredients that work for me at the time, then upgraded as time goes on till it cant be upped any more because of technology increases.

Break the bugger, take it back get a refund! Buy new one.. save £200 and buy a pressie for yourself...... If they rip you off get your own back xxx
PC World are advertising, toiday, the "Big 2 day sale starting boxing day", Lappys & PC's from £199...
Just makes me sick. If they can do it for £199 after Xmas, why not before confused

was just about to make that same point - makes ya sick and its all for the sake of corporate profit - and dont think its just PCWorld - its a conspiracy - they all have access to products cheaper but they agree with each other NOT to sell at that price - a cartel!!
its a conspiracy i tell ya!!
a conspiracy!!!
pheeeeeeeeeew - feel better now
I managed to buy a few pressies in the sales and saved myself a bundle though it's very annoyong to see something you've paid full price for reduced already, which has happened to me too evil Got my son a fab camera today though, got it for half price at £90
Well Ian doesn't have much of a Christmas present this year. I have told him he has to wait to the sales because I won't pay the full price for something I know I can get a lot less in a couple of days confused
Thats exactly what we decided- the kids pressies were all bought before the end of Nov, but Mr & Mrs Winch (or is that Grinch?) are buying eachother pressies in the sales!
BTW- Sassy, I found something to do with my xmas eve, despite having wrapped all my pressies. I got up this morning & decided to re-decorate the dining room!
It worked- it's all lovely and warm & cosy looking now!

Dont I know it. sad having a bit of a drought! Obviously, other stuff going on has meant libido is one of those words you have to find in the memory vaults around here for a while!
Still, the sherry's out. The pressies are wrapped. The dining room is (kinda) decorated. All there is to worry about now is dinner for 7 tomorrow-and I intend to be too sozzled to care!
Hope you enjoy every moment spent with your son, honey kiss
The best thing I've ever done was to buy my daughters crimbo prezzies in the last sales... nothing electrical coz she's 18 now & the phrase 'that's so last year' wont go down too well! redface
This tactic can work for some things that dont have that 'built in redundancy' factor after just a year mad
But hey a few quid saved is more sozzle juice for me :P

You can, but you have to work that little bit harder for it. I walked in to a high street jewlers yesterday to get PK a christmas present and after 30 minutes of bartering I walked out with said gift 40% cheaper than it was priced at lol
yeah the bloody Tom Tom One has just droppd to ,we paid for it!
Well for years I have laughed at mrs mdr's ability to be so organised.. she manages to buy most pressies in January and put them back till next Christmas... Nothing ever seems dated nor is anything ever a problem to exchange if needed! Also buys ALL her cards and extra decorations etc in January..
I wish I could be even half as organised smile
even the chocolates have gone down in price!!!!
edited to to say that I'm on a diet anyway so......

That is something I do, specially wrapping paper, it saves a fortune
