As far as I am concerned, i do understand that someone whould not want their history splashed all over the site, though personally ive nothing to hide, it is personal. But if someone was to sk me to prove im genuine im quiet happy (after checking with the other person involved) to arrange for a perspective meet who didnt know me to talk to someone i had met in the past!! Infact i remeber doing that a few years a go for a guy who i would have been his first meet (it fell through but was no ones fault we just got too friendly) and iput him in contact with another guy iw as seeing at the time and just left them to chat!! i had nothing to hide , so why not.
Maybe if someone is dubious about another person or persons they should ask for some sort of referance?

Perhaps it would highlight the problems of any sort of verification process to ask you Hogman.
How am I supposed to verify that a single word of what you have said is the truth? dunno

Or if the four couples in question posted in reply to this, would they perhaps say -" well, we thought Hogman seemed fine at first, but then turned in to a bit of a bunny boiler, so we did a runner." :dunno:

As least there are some people out there who think that some of the mods take a very high handed approach with any poster who says something that they don't like or agree with. And your right the last comment about me being a bunny boiler was totally uncalled for.
Just to put everyone straight, with regards to these couples that didn't show, it was not because i had hasseled them leading to them thinking i was a nutter. In all cases it was a simple case of we had discussed a meet, had set a date, and they had failed to turn up without having the manners to inform me of the situation. That is unacceptable, and i don't care what some of the mods think, this situation must be addressed and not doing so just damages this site.

Hogman.......i`ve agreed with all that you have written (but please dont tell the Mods, only i upset them last week and am trying to keep a low profile today)....What i wanted to ask you was if i could nick your profile for a week or so....you must be doing something right even to get to the stage of having so many ' no shows'....A ' no show' seems a distant dream to me at the moment.

I don’t envy the Mods their role but I certainly don’t take their opinions as Gospel and I’m sure you’ll find others on the site who would agree.
Hogman, you’ve obviously been very unlucky with the people you’ve chosen to meet up with.
We have been the opposite and after taking the time to get to know people, we have had very special meets with very special people. I certainly don’t want or feel the need to have a star against my user name to confirm that I meet people or am a “genuine” swinger.
Personally I think it’s ridiculously unworkable and prone to all sorts of abuse.
Think I’ll just stick to instinct and the trusted method we use. Seems to have worked for us so far.

Which illustrates the whole problem. This thread, and the many threads like it, suggest that this verify based on hearsay evidence about things which may or may not have happened in reall life.
This is beyond the scope of what should be permitted on here.

OK - so how would you feel if this opinion was taken from this forum, and on another forum that verified members, used as hearsay evidence to blackball you from becoming a member.
Secondly, and more importantly, You were never called bunny boiler. What I said was, we have no way of verifying if you are telling there truth, there are two sides to every story, and if we heard the other side of the story it mayl be that the couples in question would say they cut of contact with you because they considered you a bunny boiler.
You chose to put a particular interpretation on what I said, one that fitted with your position.

I too thought he raised a reasonable point in the first post in the thread (as others have too) Blue's final (i think) post to Hoggie was sarcastic and condecending to say the least.

I think a "Verification" if that is the word only needs the meet-ers to agree to a star etc next to their user name which denotes they have met people. As for the timewasters there is no need to put a ,,!,, ( middle finger) icon to denote timewasters. Hence no one will be slagged off ever and those with a star have agreed to it and others can see they meet. I have been swinging for 6 years and trust me some "swingers" wouldn't meet, they are just getting off on the idea unfortunately.
The star system was trialled in the chatroom and didn't work because it was divisive, just as any system of verification would be.
Not interested in a mod coming back and saying Susie thats &^$^## !! Just an opinion of an experienced swinger whos a newbie on here. It does seem very cliquey with those with zillions of posts and some mods acting as if newbies are unwanted or unexperienced or ungenuine- and "shouting them down" on the forum and sometimes showing them up..

I don't agree that this site is cliquey - obviously some people have got to know each other well, and address remarks to each other, that's only natural. But I think your suggested "star" system would make it much more cliquey. People would only want to swing with others who also had a star, and some would spend a lot of time admiring each other's nice shiny stars. Non-star holders would feel very left out.

This isn't a case of not liking a newbie post or idea, or being part of a clique.
The fact of the matter is it was trialed because users thought it might be a good idea.
It failed and the hassle and bad feeling it caused means that it won't be happening in these forums.
Now if your getting upset because this is what you were basically told in answer to your post, then that's just stupid. I'm sorry but it is.
You had an idea, it wasn't a new idea, and so from experience, mods and other users can say. "Nope it isn't going to happen and refer you to the thread that was ongoing whilst it was trialed."
What more do you want dunno

You will be banned if you troll the forum, that's a fact as well, not a threat.
You obviously hadn't read the verification thread or you would have known that the * was a + here and didn't work. As was pointed out by several people, just because you think it's a good idea doesn't make it one.
Perhaps you find the site cliquey because you only appear to listen to one voice - your own. It makes it a bit difficult for people to communicate effectively with you.
