boy george ........BOY maybe 25 years a go , i wonder if all this publicity would have been given to another guy or whoever unless they were FAMOUS and I use that word loosely?
my previous comments i have edited they were in reflection a tad derogatory redface surprisedops:
but none the less surely an open prison sentance would have been a better option than prison , at the end of the day its going to cost the tax payer ££££ to keep a millionaire in prison ....whatever ?
steve
Er....I don't see your problem?
He committed a crime, was tried and sentenced in accordance with the law. He's male, he goes to a male prison, that's how it works.
Or is this some reference to his sexuality?
As in 'he's gay, he'll love prison, all those big butch men to play with'
Ever been inside a prison? Obviously not from reading this.
As for hard labour? I'd suggest there are far more deserving cases to apply stiffer punishments to, rapists, killers and terrorists perhaps?
Dear me
He got what he deserved......A prison sentence....
Although I suppose some people would and do pay good money to be tied up and whipped :lol2:
Though perhaps not with a chain
The guy is an arseho*e and as thick as two short planks. He is not even a good singer.
Who really cares!
Will they really want to hurt him? :karaoke:

I agree with the Staffs, he committed a crime and must accept the sentence.
No longer can he sing "I'm a man without conviction.." lol

Whilst I appreciate all the subsequent lyric-related wit, I have to say I find this a really offensive post.

I have alterd my thread , was well out of order and just didnt think....... the comments made slapping my wrist were well founded and honest gotta respect that .a persons sexuality be it private or public should be respected and my comment " coals to newcastle" again well out of order . redface surprisedops:
gotta sit back and try to think before I write as I seem to drop myself in the mire .....

rolleyes Yes, that's the de facto defense I find - don't like, don't read.
Thing is, as I am a member of this public forum, I have a right to read and a right to comment on posts.
I read. I commented, expressing my concern about the offensive nature of the post in my opinion.
See, now I've just used the other fall-back position so we're all square. wink
Flippin' eck 'coals to newcastle' ??
you offensive person.
I can't even begin to state how ignorant your post is travelin... goodness me.

I quite agree Nola and was about to post the same.
Steve, this is a community that contains a significant number of gay, bi and transgendered individuals.
The original commment about a gay man going to prison and finding it "like a sweet shop" is uncalled for doesn't matter about his name or fame. The comment was homophobic and has no place being voiced in the community.
As for that "don't like, don't read" ... how do you know you don't like it until you've read it? I expected the thread to be about Boy George, not start off as a homophobic rant!
The lyrical humour in the thread is light-hearted and generally it's unoffensive smile
thankyou for altering your post travelin.
it takes maturity to admit mistakes, goodness knows I have made plenty in my time.
thanks

As essentially a gay man that gets involved with women when there's hot males around (in case anyone wonders about the 'bi-curious' on my profile) :P I don't find it that offensive. Infantile, closed minded and stereotypical, yes and to be honest, this type of post often reflects more on the poster than who it refers to I think.
Steve - if I ever meet you at any socials events off here you are welcome to check my nails and I assure you, they won't break. You can also observe my behaviour and it won't be like 'a kid in a sweet shop' - I'm VERY fussy who I play with - male and female. Contrary to your popular belief it would seem, gay men don't just shag any other male - we have types too.
And for what it's worth, I absolutely think Boy George got what was coming, the escort was kinda hot too lol

erm... no... as others has said... he was trailed and convicted....
remember that this is his 3rd conviction of some sort or another... the first two got him community service, which it seems he did not learn from.....

Sorry I certainly do not agree it was. It was a joke comment. Why does everyone have to turn it into something else?
Everyone is terrified nowadays to say anything for fear of being labelled a Racist, Fascist, homophobic and whatever other ist thats out there.
It was a comment that a lot of people would have found funny, including gay guys. My opinion.
And for the record he got exactly what he should have got in New York...a prison sentence. The thing is 15 months is not long enough.

For what it's worth, I didn't find it homophobic and myself and travelinmanuk have had PM exchanges to that effect biggrin

Thanks for that R6. Why do some always have to make it into a big issue?
Soon we wont know the meaning of the word " free speech ", it will be confined to the old DVDS, in the future. wink

I have replied to your PM but if you've blocked messages from single males then you won't have got it LOL It's still unopened wink
my issue was about the inference that he would have an easier time in Prison because he is gay.
As much as the daily wail and Sun like to portray prison as a holiday camp it isn't and his time inside will be harder because his sexuality is known and of course his 'celebrity' status.
The inference about prison being an easy ride is what I found offensive... well, actually the ignorance that travelin displayed about prison was what I found offensive.
I wasn't jumping on any p.c bandwagon or any such thing and as he apologised for any offence I happily accepted the apology.

Sorry but I know that to be fact. In open prisons for example, ya get to go out on weekly shopping trips.
Even in main line prisons, ya get nice dinners your own room, with a tv and ya Playstation.
Also if your very lucky you get paid benefits for being in prison too. Now IF prison is so hard, why is it that so many want to go back? wink
Prison may well be portrayed as being easy by the " rags " but......it is not exactly building railway lines or anything too taxing.
Plus you get your own social worker in there, for when you come out. lol
Trying to be funny here.
