I've heard/seen a few radio and media quips recently that branding should apply and the planet we live on should be re-named "Google Earth" - whatever next, I ask you!
Anyway, if this was the case, should all cities and towns be so branded? In the East Midlands where I live, Nottingham no longer has Players and Raleigh Cycles, but Boots are still here, although they belong to someone else, but there is Experian who have a Head Office. Derby still has Rolls Royce and Leicester has Walkers Crisps, indeed the football ground is already so named. So how about:
Rolls Royce Derby
Walkers Leicester
Experian Nottingham
In the event that this lunacy happened, what name would your home town have?
Plim wink
Rowntrees York - of course biggrin:D:D:D:D
Forget those foreign interlopers Nestle. They just renamed the factory.
PS. We're even in a famous Mnemonic - Rowntrees Of York Give Best In Value - for the colours of the rainbow. There is an alternative about some bloke called Richard but that's not as good. :D
uncle joes wigan!!!!!!!!!!!!! although to be fair that is preferable to The DW Wigan
