Double the speed of your broadband connection for the same price per month, or four quid less if you have a 1 meg speed connection.
Great.
So what is the down side I hear you ask?
Your monthly usage limit of 30meg will be cut by half to 15meg.
So now you can get half much twice as fast.
BT Broadband was down for most of the weekend for me and their attitude stank - I'll be going wireless and switching providers when I move my house around in the next few weeks...
Have some pity for some of us who are still waiting for broadband to come to our area....bet you wouldn't go back to dial up!
BT is full of cons. I prefer and better. Benefit of Virgin vs aol and other suppliers is that they do not impose a minimum 12 month contract. Been moving houses and had my broadband follow me (actually wait there for me to arrive) - no problems at all. If I ever left my provider, I'd go for aol as their customer service is amazing.
Dont do any of that , use their live help section . Or write to them . They get the most complaints because they have the most members . They have the most members because they (overall) give the best service . Far from perfect , but still best for the non-professional user . IMHO
My BT has only suffered one prolonged down time and I got two months free for it. But it's not as if there are many options where I live. Even though cable is laid in the street no cables and/or dishes are allowed on the outside of the houses here cos al 15 houses are listed and the cable company can't be arsed to spend more than the allotted half an hour putting the cables up the inside instead.
And I need to keep my private email address - though one of my colleagues changed to OneTel for broadband and telephone services but kept BT as a dial-up option and so kept his email address too.
Inertia!
Can't believe some of you are still on dial-up. You know my ickle wickle village? Well, what ya do is you get everyone to sign the online petition for Broadband For Xxxxx and as soon as you reach your trigger level of people, for BT to change the exchange, they have to do it.
Mind you, if you're waiting for NTL to run cable, then fair do's. I used to use them, when I lived in the 21st century (and 20th, for that matter), but there is no mains sewerage here... so I guess I'll not be seeing cable for a fair few.
Sorry to hear people have had problems with AOL. My experience has been impeccable and I love the fact their helpline is free of charge compared with BT's 50p a minute for some idiot to tell you things you know, then pass you on to some other idiot who will go through all these things again and... you get the idea. No call to BT was ever any less than half an hour, therefore the cost was £15 a call! And they never ring you back.
Of course as I said I am with Virgin and due to financial constraints I had to downgrade from unlimited to limited broadband but I have not reached my limit or had any service problems but I have saved £7 a month by switching packages.
B.T cut me off because they had me down as " moving house " .I wasnt moving house and dont know where they got that info from . It took me 6 days to get put back on , i spent a total of 5 hours over 6 days on the phone to them . When i got back on line they then sent me a bill for £83  ,,,BASTARDS !!!!!!!!!
Just realised, in this context the word is
Sorry, I'll get out of pedants corner now!
Hay Marms I sleightley Fuked up, what the hell.
Smak me.
