One of my kids has to make a website as a project for school..... Can anyone suggest what program we can use to make it???... I have never tackled anything like this and having tried PowerPoint, I am beginning to think that's it's not as simple as the teachers are telling her...
Cheers guys

I downloaded something called Web Page Maker. I'm no expert but it seemed reasonably easy. There will be others here who can give you proper guidance, I guess.
Thank you TE, I will go have a look now.... kiss

I would love to help but I prefer to do all mine in hand code.
I remember learning in MS Word though. That wasn't too bad. If you have MS publisher then use that one. Obviously MS Frontpage would be the way to go as that is what the program is all about. All of these products (excluding publisher) are on the MS OFffice CD. If you have MS Office then you will have frontpage.
Other than that I can't really suggest anything apart from, do it in coding. It is much easier and you learn when you do it. It takes a while to get going but when you do you find it a breaze.
General tips I could give. Draw a story board. What do you want on the web site? Who is it aimed for? Think of a colour sheme. All before you actually start the creating. It makes things a lot easier when you know what you want to begin with.
Hi etc ....
Flash is the Program that most people seem to use for Graphics for a web-page
Hope you get good marks for your efforts.
I had to do GCSE Maths course work for my entourage THREE times
I got 2 B's and a C - and did they thank me ???????
Good luck
MS Word allows you to save your page as HTML not quite the same thing as a web site but it would do the job.
Serif Page Plus is a DTP package which allows you to make web pages, web sites etc. very easily and comes with a host of templates and wizards etc. Novices tell me they find it easy to use. You may even get it free off the Cover Mounted CD/DVD on the front of a computer magazine.
definately try frontpage if you have it, lots of templates and it has all the microsoft conventions ( open, new, exit in the file menu where you would expect them) for graphics try jasc paintsop pro, trial version is free to use for a time limited period and free older versions can be found on magazine cover disks, i've made several websites bothe commercial and non comercial - if you ned any help at all feel free to contact me at
Thank you guys for all your suggestions xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
For the time being I have downloaded Web Page Maker, and it looks as though that could be a winner for this project, but........ It's only a trial version so the next attempt (as I have no doubt there will be one  ) will have to be done on another program, which is why I have written down all your suggestions and kept them in a safe place....
Thanks again, I just knew that I could count on you lot.... lol lol kiss
