Is it better to burn up or to fade away?
Does the brightest candle burn shortest?
What am I talking about? Well are you the kind of person who when they discover a new interest they throw themselves into it 100%. They live they breathe this new interest. They bore people by just talking about it and nothing else. Then after a period of time the enthusiasm wanes and they drift away looking for that new hobby/interest that will light their fire.
Or do you take things more slowly. Are you mildly interested in something and then slowly sucked in to a lifetime of committment to your passion?
I think I tend to the latter but because of various reasons I do find that I can become obsessed for short periods of time by certain subjects.
I tend to be a bit of both i can get obsesed but have got interests that have lasted years. I think i am like other people there lots of sides to me.
Same here, though the main interests I have I've had for many years, and some since childhood.
im a burn up woman all the way....dunno weather thats good or bad confused
I seemed to get quite flamey with the whole camping idea this summer!

Having started this thread, I was just thinking how many times you see it here. Someone seemingly appears from nowhere posts a lot and then disappears.
Strange isn't it?

No, why?
I've had loads of different hobbies/interests over the years - mainly in the arts and crafts area. Some I'm absolutely rubbish at but was great having a taster session. Others I've loved and are good at - like pottery, but had to give it up as I became allergic to something in the clay. Same with dress making, although I can get away with dipping in and out before it effects me to much. Hence up all night making a Halloween costume for daughter.
Next on my list to start again is sculpture - had a dabble with wire sculpture and want to take it further.
With my recent hobby - I researched and sourced the equipment/materials for two years before I took the plunge. I was passionate about it before I even started.
So I tend to stick at things once I have an interest.

It's a neil young quote, well, his was burn out rather than burn up. Also appeared on kurt cobains suicide note as a reference to neil young!

I think it is a fairly common phrase. It appears in the first Highlander film as well. It is also sampled on to Queen's KIND OF MAGIC album. I think the track is Who wants to live forever but I cvould be wrong...........on consideration I think I am. It's some other track. wink

I know what I mean  without telling everyone about my medical condition lol
Being an autistic with OCD it's either 100% or 0%, then as soon as I get distracted or have to move from one project to another the 100% becomes 0% and vice versa.
