yeah I got quite pally with razzle, great bloke and sorely missed,,and cliff, well what can you say,,the guy was a star,it's such a shame that nobody in the rock music world can drive in a straight line  and why did it have be cliff and not lars,,now that is one anti-social bloke (is it wrong to say that?),and anyways what's wrong with showing my age,I'm not dead yet,(unlike most of my mates),I'm bald by choice, ride a very silly motorcycle and I don't wear beige(or fawn) and I'm still just as randy as I was when I was a brat rolleyes anyway can anybody remember what I was saying,,is it tuesday,,I think I'd better go to the post office lol
SLAYER ARE THE DOGS BOL-- LOCKS A GOOD DOSE OF ANGEL OF DEATH
I was a goth and worked in London in my goth clothes the company I worked for wanted me to wear it all the time as they loved the image. I am into all heavy metal music and I am getting my two kids into it as well.
Hey, I'm fairly new myself, I'm very much into the whole punk/rock/metal/indie scene.
Any body from the manchester area who goes to the rock nights in town. such as the nights at Jilleys.
At the moment, i'm completly in love with the new system of a Down album, i've listened to it so many times already and i can't wait for "Hypnotise" later on in the year biggrin
Can't believe I've only just found this thread! I didn't realise there are so many rock/metal fans on here. :bounce:
Bands I'm in to inc: Metallica, Creed, Alter Bridge (seen live), Nickelback (seen live), Ozzy (seen live), Black Label Society (seen live), Dream Theater, QOTSA, Foo Fighters (the new album is amazing, especially the 2nd disc). Also, has anybody on here heard of Steve Vai or Joe Satriani? Cos in my opinion they are quite possibly the bestestest guitarists in the world, anybody else like 'em?
another metal fan here
likes of metallica, ac/dc, black sabbath, zepplin, floyd, lynard skynard, crue, poison, and the list could go on for ever and ever, old and new stuff.
went to quite a few monsters of rock when it was a cheaper weekend thing at donnington but as i got older, i got into bikes and bike rallies, we did the rock and blues this year (as we have done for many years) thunder, the dammed, australian pink floyd, tigers of pan tang certainly a chilled out weekend.
off to margam country park south wale this weekend to the free style riders mcc rally so if anyone is gonna be there pm me
Oh dear, this thread has all gone a bit retro, hasn't it? Current rock-ish favourite is Nine Inch Nails "With Teeth", an absolute classic imho. Trent has been pulling in different directions his whole career, synth pop on Pretty Hate Machine, punk on Broken/Fixed, noise on The Downward Spiral, dreamlike states on The Fragile, and "With Teeth" is the album where is all comes together as a consistent, compelling vision.
Oh, and veering off a bit, the new Depeche Mode singe "Precious" is a long-overdue return to form, which cheers me up no end. Now all we need is for that workshy git Eldritch to finish a Sisters album smile
we just been to see Nine Inch Nails in london a couple of weeks ago,
and their new stuff is much better live,
the gig was flucking amazing one of the better ones i have ever been too!
and i'm in love with trent :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
I saw their first London gig, back when Pretty Hate Machine was breaking, and was sorely disappointed, as I was expecting something similar to Depeche Mode, and got a wall of noise and 47 smashed guitars instead, I guess that if I'd been told what to expect, and I didn't have a top floor 'seat round a table' position to view it from, I'd have had a whale of a time. I've been a bit wary since, especially as I have tinnitus from too much loud music back in the day, and it can take me weeks to recover all of my hearing after even a modestly loud gig (I'm not expecting my ears to get over the Notts munch until the weekend, for example). The clincher that made me decide not to go this time was the drummer admitting they won't be playing 'the perfect drug' because it would probably break his arms :-)
mmm Trent Reznor!
Anybody like Tool? Saw them at Ozzfest 2001 and 2002, and thougt they were amazing, and I also now have a few APC albums. APC's cover of Imagine is brilliant
well i hate to tell u mister_discreet but they played perfect drug,
tbh they played all there well known hits, which were awesome,
and just to rub ur nose in it a bit more nots long ago we put up a post in the LMU
saying we had two spare standing tickets!!
if only we spoke earlier,
biggrin
NIN are a storming band, been into them since Pretty hate Machine and Broken days, also a huge Pop Will Eat Itself fan. Liek most music but ya can't beat NIN for a jump around biggrin
NIN rule
i know people are gonna laugh but going to see Korn in manchester this month,
now thats a jumpy, jumpy band as you put it
;)
I'm just starting to get into Korn. Wasn't there a big slagging match between Jonathon Davis and Fred Durst a few years ago? If so does anyone remember what it was about?
How about Dropkick murphys, RAncid, Bad Religion, NOFX, Hives, less Than Jake,Distillers
Rancid and out come the wolves is good classic punk stuff smile Dug out my old Senser album the other day for the car after losing my Rage Against the machine cd somewhere!

In fact he is so good, he inspired me to learn to play guitar, and now I've got 14 of the buggers! Seen him live 5 times, hopefully going to see him again in October I think :bounce:

Yeah, love Tool, coolest band on the planet IMO. I think you'll find a few other's around here like 'em too.
Cheers Mr.D for the heads up on NIN's 'With Teeth'. Just went out and bought it yesterday, played it and yes, it's everything you said about it, a classic. I'd say it's comparable to 'The Downward Spiral' in many ways, musically and lyrically, or simply for the reason that all the tracks are total quality.
LC
No musical talent whatsoever but enjoy all kinds though NIN, PWEI, Rage Against the Machine are some of my favourites alongside some classic Iron Maiden of course wink
Used to drum and do a bit of backing vocals many years into the usual as well as SOD and The Anti-Nowhere League.
Bought the 25th anniversary Clash London Calling album - feel really old thinking 25!!
Really, really wanted to go to Reading this year.
Anybody like the 22-20's?
