Can anyone here recommend a webcam to me? I'm looking to get some pix of me, but don't fancy taking a film to Boots for obvious reasons! Any suggestions welcome

Most Web Cams (i.e. cameras attached to your computer) can capture still images. If you also want a camera that can take stills when not attached to the computer, then some can do that also. I suggest you look at Web Cams by Logitech or Creative. They have cameras that can do both.

The ones that can do both take batteries. When attached to the computer they don't need the batteries as they draw power from the USB port. When in stand alone mode they consume batteries quicker the that damn bunny!
I recommend getting NiMH rechargeables and a charger (a lot cheaper in the long run).

Most (or at least the great majority of) Digital Cameras can do both jobs.
At present the Minolta S414 from Jessops at about £150 seems a very good buy. Looking at getting one myself to replace a knackered Canon A20. I think the S414 can act as a Web Cam (haven't checked though).
