I can eat 'normal' breakfast at any time of the morning - I even eat it for supper. That would be toast, cereal, tea/coffee.
Anything cooked I cannot face straight after waking. A full English (or Scottish, Welsh or Irish) cooked brekkie I have to have been up for a couple of hours. It makes a much better lunch really.
A light cooked such as scrambled egg (no cheese - a dash of cream) on a toasted bagel with a garnish of sun-blush tomatoes and a mug of decent coffee will do me very nicely after about 9 am.
Actually I'm now hungry - I may have to go and make some supper. :giggle:
I simply have no appetite for food first thing in the morning. I can trace it back to years ago when I went through a period of work-related stress, and I suffered from "morning sickness". At that time I even struggled eating lunch, so breakfast was definitely out of the question. Thankfully I'm over all that now, but early morning food is still not on the cards for me.
I eat breakfast, any breakfast and could not go to work without it these days.
However, in my teens I went through a patch where I was just not hungry in the morning, I could not face food in the morning, I hated breakfast time as my parents would say, "you must eat some thing" and the more fuss the worse it was.
To answer your question - yes
During the week I opt for an extra 10 mins in bed rather than eat breakfast. At weekends I do have cereal or toast though.
For years I felt my digestive process got up about 2 hours after I did. I couldn't face any food until I'd been up a while and just the thought of anything made me feel nauseous.
When I met Tiny he always ate breakfast so I started and now I couldn't start work without eating something appropriate.
I just can't eat first thing in the morning. I don't feel hungry and if I try to eat, it feels like I'm forcing the food down. Not sure why or when it started, but I have to be up and about for a couple of hours before I can eat anything (unless I have a hangover and then I have no problems, although in that case I do wake up later).
For me, breakfast is the most important meal of the day
Closely followed by second breakfast whihc is probably why I'm so fat!!
Breakfast is two strong cups of coffee, a 5 on the strength indicator on the Hot Lava Java or similar for ground and 6 cups worth on the thing you put the coffee in on the espresso machine when I've got the makings of it. Otherwise it's a coupla teaspoons of Kenco instant as big as I can get 'em into a pint pot, and 2 or 3 fags.
Can't eat anything at all first thing, even when I'm starving. The coffee and fags stave off the hunger till 9 or 10am and then it's full english all the way if I can afford the few quid for a delivery from the cafe, or various combinations of toast, teacakes, marmite, eggs, bacon and beans.
I do breakfast on a weekend cos Gem's a bacon sarnie girl but I've usually been up an hour or two before then so about ready for the cooking of it.
