Someone asked here about shyness, which made me think I often considered myself as lacking confidence but I don’t know if I would say I am shy.
I believe the two can be the same thing at times.
The way I overcome my lack of confidence is to laugh at myself I often make a fool of myself, someone once said I do it on purpose but that isn’t true, I can be a twit at times. But over the years I have learnt laughing at yourself is the best way of dealing with it, when people laugh with me I do not mind, when I find to many times people laughing at me I find I start to feel uncomfortable.
It is at these times I go shy and sink back within myself.
You normally find the people that put themselves as the joker are the people that deal with their own insecurities in that way, but as I was told by my parents growing up, “laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry aloneâ€.
This has always held me in good stead when I have found myself to be in embarrassing positions where I feel unconfident.
How do you cope with lack of confidence?
