Bastard Bastard Bastard.
Went out to the car this morning, opened it, stuck the keys in, started it. No problem so far.
Got out to check the wipers weren't frozen to the screen as there was a bit of ice on there last night. Shut the door to keep it warm inside and the fucking thing locked of it's own accord. With the only key in the ignition, with the engine on.
It could be up to 6 hours before the AA can get here as lets be fair, I'm warm and safe, not exactly a priority case!
So, anyone know how to steal a Ford Mondeo?

Oh bless! :giggle:
I'm definitely going to leave my car door ajarwhile I deice today!
This must be a thing on mondeos cos mine locks itself all the time

Much more effective and quicker too!
Which is why manufacturer's supply two keys!!
Yes I have bought second hand cars with only one key - in which case the very first thing I do is sort out getting a spare.
Self inflicted I'd have to say smile
Took son to Cardiff Airport at 7am to catch flight. Minus 10 noted on way. Japanese car, make well known in rallying circles opened up with remote central locking before we left home. Got back to car in short stay car park, no rem cen unlocking. Opened door with key and the alarm went off as it did every time we moved in the car or tried to start it. Unable to contact RAC. Contacted dealer in Cardiff, no suggestions to kill alarm, Prepared to drive car 15 miles or so into Cardiff with alarm screaming. Fortunately it did not work once we were moving. New remote battery fitted, no change. They suggested trying spare key at home 20 miles away. Got home, spare key worked perfectly. £47 now to recode original key. Anyone else had probs with remote keys failing? Maybe battery worn out, but unlikely, certainly not due to cold.......or could it be radio waves or something at the airport?
