Our old computer was completely knackered and we didn't know how to fix it so we asked my brother (who is really good with computer fixing rolleyes

) to have a look at it for us.
It was a last resort cause we really didn't want to have to spend a fortune and buy a new one but what do you do when your computer is full of naughty pics and references to SH etc, etc but its so broken you can't get in to remove said items dunno

Well the Laird just said to him, "remember that anything you find of a sensitive issue.......your sister and I are adults after all so please ignore it" redface

Lol I didnt want to print out and naughty pics!! Bad enough hiding them when on pc or disks!
Anyway, went back to Boots (and on 4th visit back to store.....long story inc. helping out at a RTA) I managed to get the pics I wanted! :bounce:

Used to see plenty of this when I worked in a camera shop!
Basically, when you "delete" a file, it doesnt delete it at all - it just compresses it massively. If you take loads of shots, you'll sometimes notice that the card doesnt seem to hold as many pics as you thought it did.
Quite often, we'd get a very ordinary looking man/woman in with a memory card where they'd lost a shot because they'd "deleted" it, and needed help. We had image recovery software (bit like the one at Boots) that enabled us to view the compressed files...usually ended up with us realising that the ordinary customer was in fact a bit wild!
Best thing to do when you clear your images is to format the card using the setting on the camera - BUT DO IT MORE THAN ONCE. This wipes the compressed files, and spares your dignity if you need to hand over the card to a store for printing.

My embarrasing moment was similar to this. I am part of a group of amy photogs and we meet every Monday to show and talk about photogrpahy. I am the only one that brings a lappy and that day I had been talking to a very nice lady online. She lives in america and emailed me some nude pictures of herself. So that Monday night I am showing some stunning pictures of the Lakes and swiitched directories to show some Scottish Glens. And there she was projected on the screen in all her nakedness. I closed it quick but they all spotted her I had a right red face. surprised

How about this one!
it was the mid eighties just got a nice new nikon 35mm camera, thought we might try it out around the house, all with a dodgy permed hair do! looked good at the time! in the bath on the stairs.........NOW how to get them printed, so, not really thinking what we had taken, we thought they were all more or less "glamour" type. so off they go in the post to a developer! waiting for them to turn up was part of the frill using 35 mm.(really miss that wait for them to pop on the mat, it was part of the frill)
10 days go by, are they lost in the post? thats when we get a letter saying if you would like to pick up your photos as they cannot be posted !!!!!!
luckily it was only 10 miles up the road, a big multi developer, with a nice new building, asked the receptionist, showing her the bit of paper, gave me a funny look and told me to go to the second floor, that was a walk of shame with my head held high along this glass corridor and everyone in the offices looking out at me, eventually to the end of it and knock on this door where a really nice woman explained that this company really didn't want our buisness and please do not send any more of this "type of photos".
when I got outside and we opened them up,sitting in the car park, there was a big sticky lable stuck over my erection that was being serviced by my wifes mouth...........oppps after that we sent them off to scotland
