all well and good, but even in this festive season, an eighteen pounder may be a bit much...eh what?

I know sometimes it's difficult to tell.
Now the kids have grown up we try and theme christmas. Last year we went with Camelot, dressed accordingly for the day and themed the foods to suit, so it was roast hog (different from domesticated pig) and mulled wine etc. This year the theme is black and white so its dress suits for the guys and white evening dresses for the girls. We guessed that Zebra take way too long, Penguin is available as a farmed bird, so thats what we have got.

We are having beef, chicken, pork and Quorn roast lol, usual trimmings but sprouts with chestnuts mmmm.
Honey and mustard glazed ham for cold meat and home-made pickle selection.

you've been watching too much Happy Feet on DVD Davej
I usually do the cooking for Christmas, but I am very traditional I am afraid:
Late on Christmas Eve : Home-made mince pies and mulled wine.
Christmas Day Breakfast: Champagne, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled egg (my own recipe with a 'special' ingredient!)
Lunch: Roast turkey, chipolatas, roast potatoes (in goose fat, of course), roast parsnips, carrots, brussel sprouts, stuffing and home-made bread sauce.
Followed by Christmas pud set alight with brandy and served with rum sauce and brandy butter.
Later on: Christmas cake, cheese and port.
Boxing Day:Ham which I have first boiled in Cider and then slow roasted in the oven. Delicious!
Will - visitors welcome! wink
Dont say visitors welcome Will as we will be driving over :lol2:
Hope you both have a wonderful day kiss
Well we're a bit traditional too. Although looking forward to it this year. Missed out as we were in Jamaica for Christmas last year. Goat curry!
But I look forward to boxing day more.....its a tradition to have bubble and squeak with the leftovers......is it very sad to look forward to bubble and squeak more than christmas day lunch?
Who cares...yum yum.
