I have gone to my parents every year for Christmas since moving out 10 years ago, this year some friends want me to go to one of their villas in spain for a golf week.
This will really upset my mother, but is what I want to do.........
Any advice would be welcome....

i would explain to your mum that although have enjoyed every year youve spent with her so far, you have been invited to do something this year so for once this is what youll be doing - shell respect you for the honesty! i've gone skiing with my mum, dad and brother every year since i was 6, and last year i stayed here with Daz for the first time ever - my mum was disappointed, but she understood that i wanted to be with him - and she didnt bat an eyelid this year when i said i was staying here!! My brother is 27 and he still goes with them so its less disappointing for her, lol!
