While we are on the topic (sort of) how do i get my photo to be less than 10kb so i can display it on here and let everybody see me? I have been puzzling over it for ages. confused
Have you got a phot edit program?
eg microsoft phot editor.
If so use the resize tool

If you havent - i dont mind doing it for you - if you had no objection to emailing it to me
You can re-size pics using programs like Paintshop Pro and the like. It is a bit of a faff, that's why I've had the same one for ages, and I didn't do that one, so I'm happy lol

Two things guaranteed to make me look stupid
1) German pen friends
2) Questions even the slightest bit teccy
But I will never learn to avoid either of them.
CK, I spent hours trying to fiddle to get mine down from 30K to 10K, Then suddenly found that just saving it as a .gif file rather than .bmp reduced it as much as I needed. rolleyes
Hope that helps

Thanks for the tip, but saving it as jpeg already makes it smaller than that. Just can't get it smaller.
I've had a few offers from people to send the photo's and they will do it for me. I think they just want to have a gander first though.
They are welcome to look!
I found just reducing the size of the image got mine down (had to go into paint to do that)
If it's a cartoon-style, or line drawing, GIF might be the best choice. For photos, go for JPG. Most graphics editors will have a quality option for saving JPGs. If you don't want to shrink your picture any further, you can try reducing the quality.
