Didn't see the pic, but it seems to have been sorted anyway. I thought a thread on compliments was quite a good idea. Most of us don't know how to accept them, some of us struggle to give them.
Besides, I was hoping for an invite to the ugly feckers social! Shouldn't need to post a pic as Stormy Wormys been unfortunate enough to spend a weekend in my company

He didnt want a meet, just to pass on a compliment. I have to say it really made my day, as I still am very surprised when people tell me how sexy I am, even after being on SH since may.
I always feel.... I dunno, like I dont deserve them, or that the compliments may not be meant, because a lot of whats said on here is done in banter, and I cant always tell if someoen means it when they say they fancy me or not
but i do get a real buzz from it, anyways.
Is it vain, or sad to get such a boost from a stranger paying you a compliment like that, or is it just me being too hard on myself?

Bringing this thread back on track for just a sec :P I agree with you about the banter thing bone. I never know how much is banter and how much is meant, but one thing I do know is that over the years it has mattered to me less and less how many or what compliments I get as I seem with age to have acquired a sense of self assurance that I never had before :shock: I had quite low self esteem for ages from teens to about mid 20's so for me it's a welcomed relief.
And no it isnt being vain it's having fun and revelling in the fact that other people think you are attractive.

Apologies, haven't read the whole thread but I know exactly what you mean.
At the recent Manc Munch I had a number of people tell me how fantastic I looked. And admit it gave my ego a real boost and I must admit I felt quite embarrassed :oops:
We all need a boost and there's nothing better than someone telling you how good you look, we all just need to get better at accepting the compliments!
