"In the political scandal of 2006, Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott admitted to an affair with his diary secretary Tracey Temple. This drama follows the course of the two-year relationship, from its beginnings at an office Christmas party up to the moment when the story finally broke. "
This is on TV tonight, and I was sort of thinking I may watch it. It then got me to thinking what about John Prescott's wife in real life, how must she be feeling with this being aired tonight? Not that he deserves it, but did John Prescott himself give his permission? Who gets the accuracy of films like this?
I know affairs in parliament like this have happened for years but is it fair to bring it all to the surface for those who have been hurt by it? confused
What does everyone else think?
As I understand it, the TV play is based on Tracey Temple's diaries which have published in one or other of the tabloids. I'm sure the ITV lawyers have also been through the screenplay to make sure that it doesn't add anything that isn't true, otherwise Prescott would be suing.
I'm out this evening otherwise I'd watch it, but these things aren't always done well - the one on Blunkett was pretty poor as TV drama I think, even though it was fun to watch to imagine him squirming.
I wont be watching as I am out tonight but expect I would have watched. Affairs happen everywhere and the tabloids are full of them. Prescott's wife has no say as do most people who are cheated upon but if you are married to someone who is high profile it does go with the territory. The ex mistress is out to make money as really her career can go only two ways - appear on Big Brother or make money out of the chaos you left behind confused . I do feel sorry for his wife but I don't expect they will watch it biggrin
I'm not watching it.
I'm at Mal's cinema tonight :P

Mal's cinema??? confused
I'll be watching it so I'll let you know how it was. It is a shame that the producers end up making money out of someone's misfortune, but most TV programmes are about that these days aren't they? sad

truth is the public enjoys a good we did not they would not make a film about i don't care how many affairs our politicians have as long as they do their job well. they should be judged on their achievements not where they put their the way i wont be watching it.
Apart from the sex scenes, which were more akin to a horny Walrus trying to mount a sheep, I found the drama thoroughly entertaining!

I actually wasn't very sure why she had the affair to be honest. She didn't appear to be in love with him, she didn't appear to want much from him financially and she didn't appear to get a huge amount out of the sex... I was a bit baffled as to why she would want to at all. dunno
