Having been reading the forums for a while now I often find it confusing when people say they are new to SH, but when i glance to the left it often shows they have been a member for months or even years. Have they been a member but not used it, or do they mean new to the forums or is it just an ego massage? Or is it just me being a grumpy old cow as usual? banghead
And those who know me needn't bother answering the last bit :silly:

I assume that they have either joined at some point and not used the site for a while so are saying hello, or as in the case I think you're refering to they have been members for a while but not posted on the forums before.....I may be wrong though..... smile

Once upon a time, you joined the chatroom and the forum seperately which might account for the date being ... out-dated? confused
I joined SH, did an ad and spent several months in the chatroom before poking my nose in here. So my registration dates were different.
The date next to this post and the date that appears on my profile are not the same.
And neither of them are right, as it happens. wink

I don't really take that much notice to be honest, but I guess it could be they joined up and didn't bother much but are getting more into it now? dunno

I first posted in the forum about 6 months after joining the site. I didn't post a hello message, I just waded in and started upsetting people and apologising. So nothing much has changed biggrin Sorry dunno

i would say im 'new' here....... i have been part of SH for a long time but never really been on here much....... untill recently.
i think people also use the term 'new' as they are new to the scene, not sh but have not had any experience in swinging or the like.

Many have joined a while ago, not for the forum, not even for the chatrooms, but for the ads. Then maybe a few try the "let's meet up" forum a long time later. A small number even graduate to the Cafe.
If you look through the list of members, you will see that only a tiny minority have forum posts to their name.

my profile was created a long time before i joined properly and became a full member so when i was new last december my forum posts say different, but having said that i just looked to see when it was and says september 2006 confused it was much earlier than that im sure.
But the other thing that confused me similar to something Kiss mentioned, I was looking at the ads and these are dated as to when they are put on and expire if I right, so how come it said they have not been online for 365 days :shock:
