I've just watched one of the most beautiful and moving films. I know it's a few years old but I never got around to seeing City Of Angels with Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage. OMG, I totally lost myself in it and blubbed so much!
To have someone give up such a beautiful existence for the love of another is just so selfless. And when he says 'I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss of her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it' I blubbed all over again ( soppy cow! )
It's now on my list of all time favourite films and I just have to buy a copy to watch again and again.
Have you ever seen a movie that moved you to tears and what was it about it that moved you so much?

Frankie & Johnnie with Michelle Pfeiffer and the god that is Al Pacino makes me weep no end. It's not a traditional love story, the characters are tough and both hurt, but the way he pursues her and believes in the two of them really makes me want to sob.
I know what you mean about City of Angels .. made me sob uncontrollably.
I've cried at just about every film I've seen - I even cry at make-over programs cos they look so happy rolleyes Extreme make-over where they do houses is a complete write off, always bawling at that one confused
Films that I remember absolutely sobbing over was
Lassie come home when I was about 7, I was inconsolable although I have learned to speak whale lol

Same here .... before the emotional part has even started so Morb banned me from watching them
Watching Biggest Loser reruns and at weigh in I'm usually teary because I'm so happy for them!
I'm just a wuss LOL.
I refuse to watch The Green Mile for this very reason redface
Beaches only have to hear "the wind beneath my wings" and i am a mess...
but saying that cried at "i am legend" last night
when i was pregnant with my daughter i would cry at adverts but that was hormaones i guess biggrin
Charlotte's Web
Shindlers list had me upset big time front to back :-( I have real trouble with understanding how or why
I watched a film with my 11 year old son a couple of weeks ago.
For the life of me can't remember the name of the film banghead If anyone can jog my memory I will be forever grateful
It was based on a robot boy who ended up having feelings and emotions, and went to live with a real family and all he wanted was for his foster mum to love him.
The ending well my son and I were babbling wreaks had so much meaning to it. It was lovely there was just the two of us watching it together my other children were out at the time.
Another of my favorite was shawshank redemption after the titles rollled and then you saw Morgan Freeman walking down the beach to meet up again with Tim Robbins.
The tears rolled to, what a great feel good film.

Oh yes - definitely bawled at that. Something about the herosim of one person in the face of such evil and potential danger to himself etc etc. A 'righteous gentile' indeed.
And pretty much everything else from Fiddler on the Roof through Terms of Endearment to Lilo and Stitch!
I caught that Last Choir Standing thing one evening recently - there was a choir of peope with various disabilities - there were some close ups of people who clearly have had much to contend with in their lives being full of the joy of making music and that had me in floods!
It's a wonderful Life.
It does it to me every time.
I struggle with depression and the thought of suicide or at least not existing are never very far from my thoughts. The thought that everyone, no matter how humble, can make a difference to those around them has kept me here more often than I care to think about.

Oh I love this film ... think I blubbed the first time but not since biggrin
I'm not a natural blubberer- picture the scene at the cinema as I cringed while Mr W cried his way through Mamma Mia. rolleyes
As far as your average chick flick goes, you're more likely to see me retching into a bucket than reaching for the Andrex.
However, The Bridges of Madison County left me moist-eyed.

me either, but Blood Diamond had the tears streaming, as does Green Mile.
Sometimes i get weepy at adverts though (think like werthers originals or rspca adverts!)- think it must be PMT related!

Green Mile moves me- as does The Shawshank Redemption- a lot of films touch/move/inspire me, but I tend to save the tears for the real stuff. Having to be strong in RL means that the woes of a cutest blonde starlet make me go rolleyes
