Indian food is my favourite!
However I've never tried eating it cold the following morning, but that's only because I scoff it all the night before! redface

I have never ever been able to eat a whole one... meal that is not the Indian himself  :eeek:
To be honest these days I struggle to even eat a half of a portion, they are just too rich. I have a friend who has a full meal, rice, naan, popp's and onion b's all to herself in one go.. with lager!.. what a women!

I recall reading somewhere that curry was developed in India with strong flavours to mask rancid meat.
Some of the best curries we have ever had have been from the original Balti Houses in Birmingham... home of curry in a bucket!
Same meat, different gravy as it were... we like making a large batch of paella and keeping leftovers in the fridge for use another day. The flavours do intensify, for sure.

that's bad.. rancid meat? not nice. Balti has a nice flavour and is it true it is regarded as rude to eat WITH a knife and fork when eating a balti?

I love love love cold curry, but thats from the girl who eats Lime Pickle from the jar with a spoon lol
When I make curry I always marinate it for at least 24 hours to make sure it tastes amazing. If I'm having a dinner party I prepare the curry at least 2-3 days ahead of time, cook it and leave it to go cold, then warm it up, friends say its the best curry in the world smile With a mountain of Lime Pickle of course. Just a shame I can't find a man who will let me eat Lime Pickle off his bits  Apparently it smarts!!! wink

Can I come to tea then katie?? mmm
Course you can, maybe I should start a regular Swinging Heaven Curry Night  Yay... I have my fork ready! :evil2:

You mean Edwina Curry played with John Majors eggs?
IMHO any strongly flavoured stew type dish is better the next day. Curry, Chilli, (Spag Bol is an exception) Beef Bourginone etc.
Pizzas are best first time round, but still great re-heated or cold.
Chinese is most definately best first time round especially as the crispy things (shredded chilli beef, sweet n sour balls, plawn clackers) go icky n soggy y the next morning.
Although, all that said - it really depends on how hung over you are! The above stands for fully recovered / not hung over at all. If you're nearly dead then EVERYTHING tastes great.
Except socks...
I'll stop talking now... *Him*
Classy - Mr J thinks ur the business biggrin
Cold curry, pizza and mango chutney he loves for breakfast. rolleyes
Personally i cant do the chutney, he once forced me to try it in a restuarant, it was not very lady like when i was spitting, retching and pulling my tongue off :D
I never used to eat the leftovers the next day, but once, mr J had not eaten the curry the following morning and had gone to work, i dunno what it was, i was not pregnant but just fancied it that morning, although i did warm it up - now its a fight for the curry

naan bread, or similar... wipe it round the bucket to soak up all those lovely juices.
in edit: and don't forget to wipe your mouth with the back of your hand afterwards wink

That's one thing I do miss about Manchester - the 'Curry Mile'.
I like to try all sorts. one morning I had a full roast pork dinner at am in a cafe in Clapham. The Turks do soups in the morning with which you get sliced turnip and a chilli, lemon slices and nice fresh bread. smile

It is amazing how many people stagger to the kitchen after a drunken night out and put a spoonful of last night's meal into their gobs! Cannot think of anything worse blink lol

I live in London so you can get just about anything you want here. Cows heads included Although they are banned) I do want to try it but just havent got around to it as joe doesnt fancy it at all. Im also not really a lover of very spicy food so wonder how little choice there may be for me. I have never cooked one myself either  so if anyone has any good recipes you could give id be very grateful.

curry is good the day after...although dont keep the same rice...its the worst thing as breeds bacteria!

Uncooked rice can contain spores of Bacillus cereus, bacteria that can cause food poisoning. When the rice is cooked, the spores can survive. Then, if the rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores will germinate into bacteria. These bacteria will multiply and may produce toxins (poisons) that cause vomiting or diarrhoea. Reheating the rice won't get rid of these toxins.
So, the longer cooked rice is left at room temperature, the more likely it is that bacteria, or the toxins they produce, could stop the rice being safe to eat.
It is one of the most dangerous foods to look after ................ so much so ........... that the Company I used to work for were going to do a range of Sushi for Tesco's. Within 10 hours of preparing the rice, there were over 10 million spores in the samples that we sent to the FTC for testing!
We never produced the Sushi ............. infact we never produced any meals containing pre cooked rice. confused

You are right, I learnt all about this last year in a Food Hygiene course, people think poultry is the worst thing for food poisoning but it is in fact rice.
