Today I have made a stand...... after suffering the latest in a long line of run in's with this supermarket that happens to be right on my doorstep I finally today made a stand and said......"No more will I ever set foot in here again" I felt so liberated :bounce:
I think I feel that way because I really mean it. It is'nt an empty threat and they have now lost approximately £500 worth of business from me per month. Ok so that does'nt mean that much to them, but I would far rather give that money to my local smaller shops anyway. Also I will meet more potential customers for my own business if I form relationships with the local shop keepers. So stuff the supermarket :giggle:
What are you all like when it comes to poor customer service and indifference? do you stand up for yourselves or put up with it?

I used to work for Asda until recently and all managers were told in training that if we lost a customer we lost a life time spend of about £80k... So ya boo sucks to whoever it is you have decided to leave!!
Having spent time working in a service industry, I am evil if I'm not happy with the service i recieve - I always think if I could smile and grit my teeth, anyone can!
I'm a customer service manager for a very very large company, and I make sure everyone of my team give out the most friendly, positive, personal customer service possible.
I expect the same in return from other companies!

yep.......the art of smiling and pacifying someones anger is a talent when you actualy want to smack the in the face and tell them to stop being a whinging idiot..........but thats what customer care roles are about.......... lol
Hi .
I am self employed and as far as I am concerned customer service is EVERYTHING. The vast majority of my work comes from 'word of mouth' refferals. If I get a dissatisfied client I risk huge damage to my practise.
You are 100% percent right to take a stand against poor customer service. I salute you.

I recently paid for a couple to be picked up in a bentley to take them from manchester to glasgow... because they're flight was now coming back into manchester instead of glasgow as originally supposed to but the flight operator changed it!!!!!
I hope they dont complain now!!!!!

Bloody 'ell, I know where to book my hols from now on then!!
The customer should always be made to feel as if they have been heard, even if they aren't always right cos that seems to be the bigger issue with the people I deal with. Its not so much that things are totally wrong, they just want someone to actually listen to their complaints and most of the issues seem to resolved there and then. What a lot of people (especially in supermarkets) don't seem to realise that your ears stop working when your lips are moving lol
p.s. I hope the shop you are boycotting is Tesco. I'm about to do the same myself thanks to having to go to customer services just about everytime I go in the bloody place mad
Good for you Fire  It can be very liberating :bounce:
We stopped buying a lot of fruit and veg from supermarkets after watching a programme that pointed out how fussy they can be to the farmers and how little they get evil We also get organic whenever we can and it feels so much better
I stopped going to my local supermarket as the pricing never seems clear enough, I bought some stuff that was on offer and when I looked at my reciept I had bought the wrong things.....which were in the place where the stuff on offer should have been..... anyway after this happening a few times I got really mad and complained to customer services they made me feel really tight fisted for wanting a refund cos it wasnt on offer, they said"when the goods that are on offer have sold out, we fill the spots with the goods next to it as we arnt allowed to have empty spots on our shelves"
this sounded a load of bollox to me, they just want to trick people into buying stuff!!!!
oh and it was Morrisons

This is a skill I've never been able to master not sure why (imaturety springs to mind) but if I don't like someone I simply can't bite my tongue and be nice. Life would be a hell of a lot easier if I could but on the rare occasion I don't like a person they find out soon enough as I normally turn round and tell them. redface
People who work in a customer service role amaze me how they can deal with some of th emost obnoxious and annoying people they encounter when all I would want to do is to tell thyem to fook off as they arfe getting on my nerves surprisedops:
Hey at least you know where you stand with me

Today I went to my local butchers (sorry veggies redface ) and bought chicken and steak, my local Grocers for fruit and veg, and to a different (much cheaper) supermarket than the one I have had all the hassel with, for all the other odds and sods. I brought only a little short of a weeks shopping and spent.......wait for it....... !!!
Furthermore I was out in the sun, I chatted to the shopkeepers and I didnt have to fight with the traffic trying to get in to get fuel, to get out of the old supermarkets car park.
I think I might get to like this :giggle:
I'm in a customer service type of role too and I know the importance of keeping customers happy. I think that's why I've just suddenly flipped and decided I'm not going to be walked over anymore by anyone (well not unless I've PM'd them first whip )
Right I'm off to do the ironing now blink bolt

One could only ruin the supermarket business if one had one's hands on the chequebooks.
Fancy the farmers markets? Not sodding likely for a regular shop. Too effing expensive, I think?

We ditched the supermarket (well not completely) for local shops like butchers, fish mongers and greengrocers etc. It hasn't cost anymore and the food we buy isn't pumped full of artificial bits and pieces. If we buy a slice of ham, it is now ham, not 30% water and a load of chemicals.
Customer service is lacking everywhere you go, which is why I always compliment when good service is received.
O/T a bit... wasn't there a thread recently about supermarket "meeting" ? Should the quality of opportunities decline in my local Waitrose I will be sure to complain!!
lol
