My son, soon to be 16 asked me for one of these for his birthday, I asked him what they were, and he told me they are like body pillows (long bolster pillows) with pictures of anime characters (mainly female,figure on them)

As he is a HUGE fan of anime, no probs I thought, so I googled them to see if there was a UK supplier.
was shocked to find that some 'dakimakura' are also called love pillows, and are inflatable, with strategically placed hols on the females figures :shock: sort of a blow up sex doll disguised as a pillow
must make sure i get him the correct type!!!
I dont see the attraction of anime at all....its not a style i like, or find sexual in the least.....am I missing something or does anyone else find it a sexually attarctive style of art

I'm told that Redtube has an entire Anime category. So it must be a pretty big draw to some (do you see what I did there?)
Anime is now covered in Art at secondary school- quite in depth seemingly...and it's being taught to a generation who grew up with "Pokemon" 24/7, so I guess that factors too.
In Porn, I think the appeal is that (I'm guessing) you can "make" the participants do stuff you couldn't get away with with real people legally. Real boundary pushing stuff- coz it's just a drawing, innit?

I can understand why some people misunderstand Anime - there are a lot of Hentai (Porn) Anime films and series out there.
However, compared to the amount of "Conventional" Anime there isn't as much as you might think...
Hentai/Yuri/Yaoi anime doesn't hold that much interest for me, as I prefer Comedy/Scifi type stuff.
