I could say I knew davy, but that would be misleading...we met occasionally, due to me having taken over his position as junior stableperson/apprentice with a racing stable...Davy came back to visit old friends when he was a monkey...he seemed like a cool guy, but I never really got to know him beyond intro's and banter. RIP Davy Jones
How the years have flown by since watching the Monkees TV programmes. A great group in their time and much of their music lives on. We have now lost the British connection. Gone but not forgotten. Smooth1
I heard a comment this morning about Davy after he married a 32 year old. He was heard to say that she asked him to take her upstairs and make love to her. His reply was, that at his age, he could only manage one of them.... From a fellow (but slightly younger) Mancunian to another, RIP Davy. Your legend lives on.
