seems like this site is dead in the water so it seems , but why? saturation of likewise sites. negative press coverage? this nanny state we live in ? timewasters to the hilt !!!!! and so on. the internet as good for a while then the goverment started to censore it (big brother) ive been to a few sites and realy getting the idea that all are a waste of time

I don't want to get into yet another argument about this site and I don't want to put you off.....but.....
You have only been registered since 1st September and this is your first post in the Cafe.
Please don't judge the site on the ads or because you've had no luck meeting you might need to persevere with the ads section or in "lets meet up".
The Cafe is full of wonderful people who respect each other, who like to have a laugh, who like to meet up with others etc etc but if you come here moaning or making accusationary statements on your first thread you won't get much help or luck i'm afraid.
There are lots of people in your position, and yes, it might be frustrating to contend with timewasters and the like but don't tar everyone with the same brush. There are decent people who want to meet others just like you do. Join in, have a laugh but don't take it personally if you get rejected or people are a waste of time..... just carry on and in the end things will come right. Patience and luck both have their part to play so bear with it and all will be fine.
You might find it helpful to look through past threads with advice on meeting people - I assume you are a single male. There are lots of advice threads on here so you can help yourself, as much as you are willing to.

There are hundreds of people off this site meeting up and making friendships. There are big social parties being held up and down the country, people organising private parties, groups of us visiting to clubs and people meeting up privately with the friends they've made from this site all the time. That doesn't sound like a site that's dead in the water to me. How have you managed to come to that conclusion?
I'm no expert on how other sites perform but I've never heard of one where the people on it do as much to promote a sense of community as this one does and to top it all off.............IT'S FREE.

I'm sure, if you just want to use the photo ads system and post requests in "Let's Meet Up", the mods won't blast you off the face of the Earth. Fair enough, if you post something really stupid or pathetic in Let's Meet Up then various people will take the piss out of you something wrotten, but that's the same in any walk of life you care to name.

Both. You see, we may have comments between people here. Sometimes they may be light hearted. This is called conversation and it is a great way of getting to know people. We talk to eachother and then, quite often, meet up.
However, I apologise to you, as obviously we are supposed to do it by just posting "Wanna fcuk?" and wait for the responses to come rolling in. This must work for you, as you seem to so disapprove of the conversational way of meeting people.

i didn't post on this last night, cos i was drunk! hornylondon. this site works. this bit of the site, is not about meets, it's about the social side. the rest of the site is devoted to sex. here we banter among friends. it may be pointless to you, but not to us. we have all kinds of fun here mate.

roger some sense at last i understand what your saying but there is a trend to take the piss when people post requests mainly daft ones especially on the lets meet up forum when they are trying to arrange a meet without activly taking part in the forum and posting several comments , replies and threads which i guess people dont want to do they just wanna try and meet people

Perhaps you'd have more success if you weren't so confrontational.
There isn't an "in crowd" as such but yes there are a lot of people that have got to know each other and they may seem to be a little more familiar with each other than with others but that's just human nature.
You're going to the London munch tomorrow night aren't you? What are you going to do when you get there? It's all down to attitude and approach rather than numbers of posts and time spent on the site. If you go with a social attitude and greet people with a smile instead of a sneer then a few people might just smile back.
