As for Rescue Remedy, I bought some today and there is no warning in the enclosed leaflet about taking it with other medication though if it does conflict I think it's more the alcohol ( 27% ) in it than the herbs confused
tastes fecking great !

It's only very very recently that they have started tightening up the labelling on herbal medicines and supplements, so it's definatley worth checking. Sites like the BNF online state which supplements and herbal medicines interact with particular drugs, but I can't find a site that can be accessed without an Athens password (and I can't remember mine and can't have a relacement sent to my home email account sad )

well ur not alone, i havnt bin to the dentist for about 4 years now, the last time i had to go was cause i was in major pain, i had to go to the dental school in mcr and get one pulled out..lol..wasnt funny really, cos i couldnt get in a dentist anywhere and i was in agony...the tutor ended up pulling it out. but that didnt help my fear...i think it all stems from the school dentist aka the butcher....
so any help is appreciated..i really do need a good dentist in stockport, but cant bloody find one..ffs.
Thank you to all for your helpful comments kiss . I will let you know next week how it went.

Well I bought that Rescue Remedy and went off with my nerves in my throat this morning to see my new dentist. After squirting enough of the stuff under my tongue to put me over the drink-drive limit I was still a little nervous but not as much as I used to be.
Not sure if it was my dentist who actually put me at ease or the Rescue remedy so the jury's still out on that one.
Got a few more visits coming up so let's see how I feel next time I go.
Good luck with yours Alex kiss

Alex you will be great! Honestly, as long as the dentist knows you are nervous you will be in good hands lol The thing I have found (both as a patient and those dealing with patients) is that the turning up counts. It's the hardest part.
Injections are painless. The drill sounds dodgy but it's there to help fix things.
Ask your GP about a sedative to get you there, but the Bach Flower remedies are also great biggrin
hi alex , i know what your going through mate i feckin hate the dentist or any type of surgical work (fear of the unknown i think) what ever you do though mate just go along and sort it , dont be a clown like me  i aint seen a dentist for over 20 yrs now result - gob full of fecked teeth , and i mean proper fecked , major embarrasment , and knocks my confidence for six every time i look in the mirror redface  , now on top of that iam waiting for a heart bypass op , so thinking about it it makes a trip to the dentist seem like a walk in the park , if you know what i mean , so whatever you do just get it sorted mate and dont for fecks sake end up like me rolleyes , good luck.

I had my tooth extracted with conscious sedation at 1pm today, just thought I would give you all an update of how it went.
After sitting in the waiting room for over half an hour, seeing younger patients coming out crying, my brother in law had to practically sit on me so that I wouldn't bolt out of the door confused Eventually my name got called and I walked into the treatment room with trepidation. My dentist was very reassuring, gave me gas and air to relax me. The anaethatist placed the venflon in my hand, and that is the last thing I remember. I was then aware that I was in the recovery room and 15 minutes later, I was escorted home. The procedure had slight complications as the Dentist was unable to remove the tooth and had to ask another Dentist to assist him. They cut my gum open and removed as much of the tooth possible and consequently, I have stitches in my gum.
Apart from looking like a hamster with a swollen left cheek and nasty pain down the side of my face, I am so relieved it is over biggrin .
I would definately recommend conscious sedation to dental phobics like me.

Alex, I'm so proud of you for going through with it. kiss Give yourself a pat on the back for being very brave ( I'd do it for you but I do tend to grope  ) Now you can relax knowing the worst is over
Here's one course of action that always ensures a pain-free visit to the dentist.
As soon as he leans over to commence working on you, grab his knackers and say to him ' Now then mate, we're not gonna hurt each other are we ? '
Its surprising just how gentle he will be lol
