We had a similar problem hun.
I discovered a while ago there's a 3 step solution to any techie problem.
1. pm TallnHairy
2. pm Marmalaid
3. pm Meaty
and somehow or another it always gets fixed. lol

hehehe there is more techs on this site than on a computer forum
Tony
I can do most things on a pc and if i cant i can pick it up from somewhere, but come to explain it to some one else with out being able to physicly show them i'm useless at that.
But if u still have a problem just ask and i'll have a go. But if i remember right WPA is a better encryption than WEP.

Wise words from our pic advisors
I keep hoping that someone will want paying in kind for all their assistance but so far sadly not
It's really suprising how many people have the wireless routers open.
Drive on to almost any large housing estate nowadays and you can find at least one open wireless connection.
I even came across a company that had a open connection and a council "sports center" who's WEP password was the name of the venue...
There is a whole website devoted to "Free wireless connections"... how else do you think I access my emails when I am away redface
There is an open system close to me, but he/she has taken the most simple step in security... only allowed one connection, so when the router and PC are one, no one else can connect.
I can't find who it is the offer them more advice..

Be careful if you don't have the encription enabled, if you have not set a password as well someone can gain access to your machine along with the free Internet.
You don't want anyone looking at your dodgy photos on your machine!!!
With the Belkin type: 2.1/ and a password screen will be dispalyed.
Next select security on the left hand side of the screen. A new window will be displayed with security select which option you want and type in a word to generate your WEP key, Apply changes.
To set your password select connection type on the left hand window. A window will display with PPPoE, click next and set your password. Apply changes
It worked for me
