Disappointment

Hi all
I'm new to this site and I wanted to share my experience so far.
I have to say, I’m pretty disappointed, it seems that single men are not taken seriously or simply ignored!
I have written over 50 emails so far, I’ve been polite and I have taken my time to read the profiles of the people I’m writing to. I am not a 'cut and paste' artist and i am genuinely interested in the people here.
From the 50 emails I’ve sent, (both in reply to adds and through my search )i have not had one response! is this unusual?
I’m not asking for much, and i appreciate that many women and cpls must get bombarded with emails but a simple - thanks but no thanks would be nice.
i wonder if any other guys here are having a similar experience. We are after all paying for the privilege of being ignored!
i'm sorry this is so negative but I’ve only been here a week and i'm fed up with it all ready!
like i said, i'm genuinely interested in meeting people, I’m honest and open in what i say and i don't mess people about.
Be good to know how people feel about this and if anyone can offer advive?

Imagine having to type 'sorry but no thanks' to each and every one of possibly 100 or more emails? Not such a quick job, that.
Stop moaning - won't get you anywhere except with a reputation for moaning. It happens - forget it and move on. Oh, and you're not alone - though quite what use it is to you knowing that, I can't imagine.

Umm mr sopranos ... just check out my link and believe me, as many rejections and unanswered mails.. you will never exceed the number of single men who come here and whinge.

a whole week..... woweeeeee......... talk about being impatient.......
we had one of these yesterday...... come along like buses....
since it seems that you have put in the same amount of effort as him...... you can have the same reply
The example that I always give is that I know a single girl who was looking...... put up an advert and went on holiday for a week..... and when she came back she found she had the best part of 800 replies waiting for her.......
now if you were in her position, hand on heart, would you answer every single one of them?
to be honest I have yet to meet a bloke that has said "yes, I would answer every one".....
yes it is frustrating...... but you have to imagine the amount of post a person gets..... and unless yours does stand out, then it is going to be tough...
I have been on here longer than you have, and to be honest with you, them amount of people that have replied to my ad has to be no more that the fingers on both hands....
there is a saying that goes so well in regards to swinging and the scene in general...
you get out what you put in....
I have gotten myself known in various chatrooms that has opened up many avenues..... I have gone to socials and munches, where meeting people in person has opened up a new world of oppotunities....
if you are just relying on an ad then you are restricting the ways that you will get noticed......
so I went and looked at your ad and profile.....
your profile is very basic, says very little about you or your personality.....
your ad..... here is a tip...Swinging Heaven hasn't started charging by the word quite yet, so use them to sell yourself!
your ad says nothing about you, it says nothing about the type of person you are after, it is just one line long......hand on heart,if you were someone on the outside looking in would you answer your ad? if, and i would suspect, the answer would be no... then you know what you need to do
hopefully you will take a lot of what you have said in....

Tonysoprano - don't get too worried about it.
The link Splendid posted is very good advice and the best part of that is get yourself known. Then people have a much better idea as to whether they want to get together with you. Doesn't guarantee that they will of course, and it will probably take a long time. Patience is the real key.

Firstly please make sure you read the link that Splendid sent to you!
Having looked at your profile, you've put a nice selection of picture up which is a very good start :thumbup:
Now I think you need to do a bit of work on your ad and your profile text, both of which you only really have one line. Why not add a bit more about you and what you are looking for, it might just spark some interest from someone.
Also try and get posting on the forum, or chat in the chatrooms......these are the places where you can start to interact with people and develop a spark. The ad section works for some people, but for some it works better to use other areas of the site. Why not give all of them a go and see what works best for you.
Hope that helps a bit. And don't give up after a week....just because you've paid to join doesn't guarantee a shag, but if you use it well I'm sure you'll find a lot of fun here smile

To be honest we felt that single guys were getting a rough ride so when we first started out we decided to respond to everybody - mostly a thanks but no thanks... We kept some numbers from that week
107 - Total number of "tbnt" messages sent from us
43 - Total number of responses along the lines of "go on I'm really nice please..."
23 - Total number of responses to a response saying thanks for letting them know
12 - Total number of people accusing us of been prick teasers
3 - Total number of nasty responses along the lines of "you f**king morons do you know how many people I have met from this site, you we’re lucky to get a message from me”
The rest just did not respond so I guess you can imagine that it is very hard work to get back to everyone. Although our intentions were good it was just impossible to manage so we now only respond to people who we intent to take further.
Even though we have no advert for men at the minute men still contact us and try to connect on every level along the lines "I see you like using the word "the" - so do... lets shag!!!" You are in a very deep pool and we always say that if we want a man we could get 1 here within which really describes the level of things on here.
