I believe I have gained more knowledge and understanding about myself in life through the hardest times within my life, times when life is on an even level are great as you feel contented, but then something unseen comes along that has to be tackled these are the times I find myself questioning, working out ways to overcome them to be able to move on, what I have also found within life is good always seems to come out of a bad situation often you don’t see that, but then looking back can often see how life’s journey has changed you to who you are today.
During the hard times I would feel if only life was always happy and simple, that I never had to cry or feel unset wishing things that had happened never needed to happen.
But then would we have the tools to deal with life that these situations arm us with to survive?
Totally.
I can only imagine how flat and uninspiring a life must be if there have never been hard times. I know I would LOVE an easy life but I would only appreciate it because I have had some very hard and frustrating times.
Of course given the choice I would far rather my son had an easy life than a hard one - but probably because I know it won't happen and he will benefit from his experiences.
No.
Having had hard times, I think I much preferred things when I knew not what hard times were... at all.
I liked being in my little bubble of eternal sunshine happiness with multicoloured sprinkles and sauce. It makes me think that everything was OK with the world, my little world and those around me.
Having a hard time can make you jaded and negative which can make life seem a chore rather than a blessing, with every day being a new hurdle to lollop over haphazardly.
It would definately depend on personal experiences and someone's personality as to whether they take the optimistic, pesimistic or neutral view point.
I don't like hard times I need more money to do things
Think it depends of the sh!t storm, the texture, density and smell of it's substance, and for how long it continues.
I've ended up covered head to toe several times in my life; and am just washing the last of the most recent off my shoes.
You learn a lot about yourself and those around you, but frankly, much of this 'education' I could have well done without.
(best of luck and fair trails for all those with problems right now, especially where little ones are involved)
Having been through a number of difficult times in my life including the death of a child through cancer, a painful divorce, various other traumas and now, currently, my delicious other half having to face yet another operation on his leg..........I feel that life is here to be reckoned with!
It hasnt made me grouchy. It hasnt made me pesimistic. It has taught me that some things just are not worth fretting about, some things are just not important in the grand scheme of things.
Do hard times make life easier to enjoy?
I certainly dont think they make things easier but I sure as hell think they make you appreciate the good things and not take life for granted.
I enjoy my life. I feel I owe it to my son who never had a chance to live his past his 5 1/2 years.
