What ever in life I do or get asked to do I always give 100% to my best ability.
I am not saying what I do is perfect, but I believe to give, what to you is 100% that’s the best you can do.
If I take on a project no matter how small or large, I wouldn’t do it or say yes if I felt I couldn’t give it my best shot, and bring a vast improvement to whatever is there already.
I couldn’t agree to do something if I felt half hearted about it.
Do you give 100%?
Or are you happy to just give things a bit of time and move on to something else?
I think if anyone says they give 100% to anything, they are probably lying.
You cannot give yourself 100% to people, it's not feasible, you cannot give work 100% because life goes on around you away from work.... etc., etc.,
So no, I don't honestly think I give 100% to anything, I try to do things to the best of my ability but if I said that was 100% I'd be a bighead.
Yes I give 100% as I am unable to do anything but. I don't get a choice in the matter.
on a motorbike yes i pushed to hard and it nearly killed me.
Now that ive stopped my body is making me pay for the pain i put it through.
Everyday something hurts or gives me cause to complain so i say to you all.
Never give 100%.save something for yourself!
It can be nice and satisfying to give 100%
The problem comes when someone takes the piss and asks for more.
Self satisfaction is not just a wank.

I don't give 100% to anything.
I keep some back for myself.
I do my best IF it's something I enjoy doing, otherwise I do as much as I feel like doing at the time.

Think that sums it up for me to, I do my best at things i want to do and enjoy but anyone wanting 100% simply cant have it, but what ever i do give you can share nicely wink

No, always keep a little of yourself in reserve!

If giving your utter most best means giving 100% at all times how do we improve on things? lol

See, now there's the best bit. If you give 100% you don't have to improve and it saves all the stress and the guilt of feeling you haven't improved ;)

But if things stopped improving because every one had given 100% would anything actually improve?

(Ignore me I am in a bollox talking mood)

What makes you think that everything has to improve?

Evolution isn't necessarily as a result of improvement, sometimes (often times in fact) it's as a result of doing something differently. In this case the 100% thing wouldn't apply.
Personally if I know someone has done something to the best of their ability then I'm quite happy to accept a lack of perfection, especially if it's something I couldn't do in the first place.
In the case of my weekend "hobby" then yes I do give 100% as anything less could result in a grave situation arising but in general life I give just enough to get the job done.......
There is one other thing I give 100% in but thats a secret ;-)
Quick calculation ermmmmmmmmmm 37%
Gets on my tits when people say we gave 150%.
Its usually football managers or some other dimwits that say my team gave 150% out there today.
errrr?? how can that be when 100% is the whole complete thing.

aaaaaaaggggghhhh
I give what's needed. Occasionally it's 100% of my concentration for a short time. rarely I may give 100% of my physical capability (for an even shorter time LOL). But mostly I give enough. And, when it comes down to it, why on earth would you give any more? 'Enough' is just that; sufficient, adequate to the task, as much as is required.
Giving more is wasting effort that could be used on something else.
Think of it like this - you are baking a cake - do you give it 100% of the mixer power? Possibly but probably more like 75% on a decent one. Do you give it 100% of the oven power - not unless you like your cakes carbonised. Enough is simply that - enough.
My big failing is that I start stuff and tail off. It's something I try to overcome but it doesn't come natural to me - and I so wish it did.

So in other words you give it 100% of what is needed for the recipe to be complete?
As a working mum of two who is also studying I could never honestly give 100% to everything I do as much as I would like to.

Yes. It all depends on what we are assuming is the thing we are giving 100% of I suppose biggrin So often 'giving 100%' is used to imply 'of yourself'.
