Anyone else do the same or am I the only daft one?

TuT! Don't you dare talk about anything along the lines of doing anything other than sleeping in bed at the moment...
... Shaz has the mumps and I got no chance for a couple of week
Awww... ((hugs)) to Shaz. sad

It's me that need's hugs! I'm the one that is feeling hard done by as not getting any lol
Nope :lol2: But I don't sleep well anyway, 2 hours is a good nights sleep for me, and that's normally when Shi gets up and I can sprawl out and hog the covers.
I normally get to bed about 2 ish sometimes later, try my luck then read a book lol
I used to be like that, a few hours here and there and I was fine but since I hit my 40's my mind has been telling me I need more sleep but my heart is telling me different.
Maybe this is the midlife crisis lol

 and is that enough for you?!
I don't go to bed when I should do... and I don't get out of bed when I should either. But tonight it looks like I WILL observe my nominal bedtime of 1am with a very small, negligible delay!
Get well soon Shaz :smile2:
going to bed and getting to sleep is easy
its the staying asleep that's the problem normally between 2am and 4 am and I'm up that's after going to sleep at midnight banghead

I want my little suzuki gp 100 back when I was in my teens
Definitely not. I can't get to sleep until late and don't wake up until late. No matter how much I sleep I never feel refreshed like its enough - even after 12 hours some weekends. I'm trying to slowly week my body clock back into some reasonable sleeping pattern, but it refuses to shutoff before 2am.

Yeah I manage on that and if I do ever have a good nights sleep I am like a zombie the next day.
But saying that I did get rudely woken up by the postman this morning and felt like delivering his parcel straight back up his jacksy sideways :lol2:
Had to be up this morning at 04-45 and was still watching tele at 03-10....
I sleep around 4 hours in 24 with the occasional marathon of a 10 hour kip once every blue moon, I hate those as I end up in a shite mood with a headache. Mind you I did at one point suffer very severe sleep apnoea and that was hell for years but that was sorted under surgery and what a blessing that was and still is.
I think that I'm pretty bad for staying up past when I should of gone to bed but hey your a long time dead so enjoy the times when your pushing your awake moment envelopes smile
I sooooo need my sleep and am lucky enough to be asleep within seconds of my head hitting the pillow. I am not a morning person and even if I've had a good long sleep, I still struggle to get up in the morning.
The only time I struggle to go to sleep is when I need to be up really early in the morning and them I toss and turn for ages looking at the clock and counting down until I have to get up. Typical innit!!
See, i'm not the only one thats bloddy mad! lol
Well I went bed early last night and woke up feeling refreshed, think as I might have a late night again tonight now as had to much sleep

Now, I snatch a few hours here or there and tend to go up a gear on the domestic chores/surfing when the bubbas are sleeping soundly and the man is messing wiv his boystoys in the garage/workshop.

That's what my late bedtimes are about - kids go to bed late also, so I need some time to wind down at the end of the day! Which makes me doubly annoyed when I get people on the chatrooms (at 2am or later) telling me I "looked tired" and "should go to bed". banghead
Tony the only conclusion from this thread is that your circadean rythms are f*cked :P And it sounds like it's always been like that, even before you were 40. I know this lack of pattern well! FTR I crashed out at 11 last night, couldn't help it, up at 7... and curious to see what time I will make it tonight. See you in the chatrooms lol

Circadean rythms ha! my body don't know the meening of it but I do still like to blame it on being over 40
i do not have a bed.
i sleep on the hard floor as i find it time i use a bed is when i have company.
but i try and go to bed at the same time but find it doesnt happen as my body clock has changed and im awake most nights.
this is because i have been travelling but also because i use the gym in the early hours when no one is around to hog the best machines and swimming pool.
i have found when struggling to sleep a radio does the trick. i have posted this before but will again so anyone who needs help can try it.
firstly get everything done you need to before going to bed. sounds like im joking but how many times have you forgotten something and got out of bed to do it?
secondly get a radio and place it in a corner of a room. set it station to something which only has talk on it. no constant music.
set the volume so when your away from it and in bed you can just make out what is being said on the radio.
it works like this.
you lay down and listen to the radio. because your brain can only just make out what is being said it strains or uses up energy to focus on the voices.
your listening to the radio and not thinking about the things which stress you in your life so your body and mind relax a little.
if it is done right you will drift off to sleep and wake up when your alarm goes or naturally.
This take a little while to get use to so do not expect results straight away.
i learnt this because i was able to listen to information on a radio while resting and remember it then put the commands into action when awake.
the state of readiness.
anybody who is struggling to get it right let me know and i'll try to help where i can.
I find if i listen to Shaz snore it helps lol

No, Xbox live I play it too much and watch too much recorded tv. I start work at 7 up at and never in bed before am. In fact is early for once or twice a week I'll go to bed at -30. I'll be going live in just a mo smile I do though on anywhere for 2-4 days a week nap in the afternoon from 1-2 hours whilst the kids are at school or nursery.
Well I just finished a bit of work I was doing, i'm knackered but as my mind is active it will take ages for me to wind down
Yep, have to be up at 6am during the week but I never learn lol Tis midnight for me more often than not!
