The only good gym is a closed gym - about to be converted into a coffee shop that gives you a free chocolate with every drink.
To the OP - sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm not a gym person - I do yoga. It's great exercise and you do a fair bit of it lying down. Hmm, sounds like the same reason I like this site - half the socialising is done lying down biggrin:D:D:D:D:D

There are a couple of gyms in the Village in Manchester. Pretty sure they are gay-friendly (awful phrase, but you know what I mean!)
They are pretty serious working out gyms though... at least as far as I know.
